BSE Sensex reported it longest weekly winning streak in six years, as it rallied to cross its lifetime high mark of 71,000 on the back of strong global cues. On the stock-specific front, Mangalam Cement, TVS Holdings, INOX Green Energy, Hudco, HBL Power, Mastek, KPI Green Energy, RBL Bank, Equitas Small Finance Bank, Coforge, Aether Industries, and others are among the smallcaps that logged a double-digit rise in their share prices last week.

KKV Agro Powers Ltd.(up 5.33%), Karma Energy(up 4.95%), Indowind Energy(up 4.93%), Power & Instrumentation(Gujarat)(up 4.90%), Energy Development Company(up 4.39%), Alstom T&D India(up 4.24%), DPSC(up 2.84%), GE Power India Limited(up 2.11%), JSW Energy(up 1.97%) and Reliance Power(up 1.94%) were among the top gainers. Adani Energy Solutions(down 1.81%), ADANIGREEN(down 1.46%), SJVN(down 1.21%), CESC(down 1.11%), Torrent Power(down 1.11%), Gujarat Industries Power(down 0.61%), Kalpataru Projects International(down 0.32%), Adani Power(down 0.11%) and KPI Green Energy(down 0.02%) were among the top losers.

Further, last month, as many as 322 smallcap stocks hit fresh 52-week highs. All the midcap and smallcap indices of BSE outperformed the benchmark Sensex and gave about 9-11% returns in November. The easing of US bond yields and crude oil prices contributed to the recovery in the market last month. Bond yields eased following encouraging inflation data in the US, which strengthened the view that the interest rate hike cycle is closer to the peak.

US Treasury yields, spurred by renewed hopes for an end to the rate hike cycle and as oil prices hovered around $80 per barrel ahead of the OPEC+ meeting. The BSE Sensex was trading 47 points or 0.07% higher at 66,016. Nifty50 was trading at 19,823, up 29 points or 0.15% at around 9.17 am. Domestic macroeconomic data and sustained domestic investor inflows also aided the rise in Indian equities. From the Sensex stocks, UltraTech Cement, Power Grid, NTPC, Wipro, and Axis Bank opened with gains, while ICICI Bank, M&M, Reliance Industries, L&T, and Tech Mahindra opened with cuts. Paytm shares dipped 1.4% after Warren Buffet's investment arm, BH International Holdings exited Paytm's parent through open market transactions in a Rs 1,370 crore deal. Shares of KPI Green Energy rose nearly 4% after the firm received a new order of a 4.66 MW Solar Power Plant under the CPP segment. On the sectoral front, Nifty Metal rose 1.07%, and Nifty Oil & Gas surged 0.83%.

The benchmark equity indices are trading in negative territory on Wednesday. The NSE Nifty 50 is trading at 19,741.55 down 021%, while the BSE Sensex is trading at 65,780.75 down 150.52 points. Smallcap stocks are leading the losses among the broader indices. PSU Bank, Realty, Metal and Media stocks are facing a downward trend among the other sectoral indices while Pharma, Healthcare, Auto and IT trade in green.

BSE Sensex logged its third successive weekly gain, supported by a surge in information technology (IT) stocks on easing global interest rate outlooks with strong US markets. On the stock-specific front, 45 smallcap stocks logged gains in the range of 15 per cent - 50 per cent last week, outperforming the index. LTIMindtree Ltd.(down 0.76 per cent), Persistent Systems Ltd.(down 0.75 per cent), Coforge Ltd.(down 0.49 per cent), Infosys Ltd.(down 0.45 per cent) and MphasiS Ltd.(down 0.25 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

KPI Green Energy, one of the leading players in the renewable energy sector, saw its share price rise 7% to reach ₹885 apiece in Friday's early trade deals on multiple positive developments. The company said on Thursday that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Uttarakhand along with Advait Infratech Limited for the development of a 500 MW solar park under the Captive Power Producer (‘CPP’) segment. The company also informed that Sun Drops Energia Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of KPI Green Energy, received a new order for executing the Wind-Solar Hybrid Power Project for 2.10 MW capacity, comprising of 2.10 MW wind and 1 MW solar capacity, from CTX Life Sciences.
