Manipur police have arrested three members of Arambai Tenggol. Over 2000 troops are searching for the Meitei man, Laishram Kamal Babu who has been missing since November 25. Manipur police in a statement stated, “On 01.12.2024, Manipur Police arrested three armed miscreants and apprehended one juvenile from Kshetrigao Sabal Leikai, Imphal East District who were found loitering in the area to commit prejudicial activities like extortion of money from general public and government officials of the said areas as well as threatening the general public. They were later found to be members of Arambai Tenggol. The three arrested persons have been identified as — Ningombam Lemba Singh, Mangshatabam Poireinganba Meitei, Laishram Bidyas Singh. Further the following items were recovered from their possession. One Ghatak rifle along with one magazine and 5 live rounds, One .32 Pistol country made with magazine, three number of mobile phones, One four wheeler vehicle and other incriminating items”. Arambai Tenggol is a radical Meitei group.

Mahayuti even as the alliance continued to remain in the throes of government formation more than week after it swept the Maharashtra assembly polls. The Mahayuti, comprising the BJP, Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party, won 230 of the 288 assembly seats in the state. The BJP led with 132 seats, while the Shiv Sena got 57 and NCP 41. Shiv Sena MLA Gulabrao Patil on Sunday said the Eknath Shinde-led party would have won 90-100 seats in the November 20 assembly polls if Ajit Pawar's Nationalist Congress Party was not part of the Mahayuti. Pawar had joined the Shinde government in July last year and was made deputy CM.

The police immediately apprehended the individual at the scene.

Himachal Pradesh government is again in a tight spot for issuing notices to a state roadways conductor and driver after an audio clip with defamatory remarks against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was allegedly played in their bus. A man in his complaint to the Chief Minister's Office said defamatory words were used against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav and other leaders in an audio clip which was played in the Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) bus plying between Shimla and Sanjauli on November 5. In a letter to the conductor and driver of the bus on November 25, the HRTC sought explanation from them. The letter went viral on the internet.

Supreme Court has flagged the concerning trend of criminalising soured consensual relationships, ruling that a woman in a long-term extramarital affair cannot accuse the man of rape based on an alleged false promise of marriage. «There is a troubling pattern of consensual relationships turning sour and being criminalised,» the court said while quashing a seven-year-old FIR filed by Vanita S. Jadhav against Mahesh Damu Khare in Mumbai, a bench of Justices B.V. Nagarathna and N. Kotiswar Singh stated. The court emphasised that complaints of breach of promise to marry must be filed promptly, not after years of a continued physical relationship.
