markets Man Porsche country fun Equality View: It’s not fun and glory for the super-rich living in the global south
Clearly, the man had thought about this quite a lot, to the point of harbouring the kind of concern that people with less money and thinner mattresses keep hidden under their mattress. His reply was honest and disarming. 'It's like driving' — what he meant was 'being driven in' — a Porsche on pothole-ridden roads. Everywhere I go, I'm admired and resented in equal measure.' I honestly expected him to say that India was no longer a poor country and quote the likes of Surjit Bhalla. His candour impressed me. Being very, very rich in a poor country — poor being not so much in abstract, theological GDP terms, but in its look, smell and feel — has its unique pressures. One would think that it would be more comfortable being super-rich here, like Napoleon hanging out with seven dwarves. But it turns out that it's more like being Beethoven at a jagran.

The great and powerful man behind the central bank curtain, Jerome Powell, really can’t do as much as people think to keep their portfolios from shriveling if the wheels are already starting to come off the economy. Stocks’ initial reaction to Wednesday’s cut was exuberant.

There used to be a time when upon joining a gym, the first thing trainers would make you do would be to stand on a BMI (body mass index) machine, enter your height and weight, and wait while it whirred and spat out a receipt with your number. While BMI is basically a value derived from the mass (weight) and height of a person, the machine would also give data on visceral fat, real age and other determinants that could either be impressive or scary or both.

Illinois widow lost $1 million of her life savings in a pig butchering scam; learn how to recognize similar schemes. Erika DeMask believed that she had at last found love again, but over several months, she was duped out of her entire life savings in a pig butchering scam. These supposedly pig butchering scams are a particular kind of fraud where the con artist gradually wins over the victim's trust, fattening them up, so to speak, before making the ultimate move and taking all of their money. To establish trust, victims are frequently seduced into virtual relationships, as was the case with DeMask. Her husband had died many years ago, and she had just connected with a lovely man on the internet. The woman from Lombard, Illinois, told ABC 7 Eyewitness News that he said that he loved her and also sent her a massive bouquet, and the FBI said afterwards that they were shocked he did that. However, the flowers were just a small part of a bigger scheme to con DeMask into giving up all of her life savings. Also Read: This new photo shows Sasha Obama as the Queen of Street

Donald Trump on Tuesday referred to India as a “very big abuser” concerning its trade policies, specifically regarding import tariffs. He said, «So when India, which is a very big abuser. He (Modi) happens to be coming to meet me next week, and Modi, he's fantastic. I mean, fantastic man. A lot of these leaders are fantastic.» He added that countries like Brazil and China also impose tough trade terms on the US, but China, in particular, was the most challenging of all. Further emphasizing India's competitive stance in global trade, Trump remarked, «They're not a little bit backwards...You know the expression, they're at the top of their game, and they use it against us. But India is very tough.» He also noted that Brazil, like India, maintained strict policies that made it difficult for the US to engage in fair trade.
