Patanjali case: SC intensifies focus on misleading ads by FMCG companies
The apex court also took a dig at Patanjali Ayurved’s public notice tendering unqualified public apology, asking if the size of the apology put out in 67 newspapers was similar to its full-page advertisements that it normally issued for its ayurvedic products. It asked Patanjali to bring on record within two days the “original” apology published in newspapers so as to check the size of the advertisement. “Cut the actual newspaper clippings and keep them handy. For you to photocopy by enlarging, it may not impress us. We want to see the actual size of the ad. When you issue an apology, it does not mean that we have to see it by a microscope," a bench comprising justices Hima Kohli and Ahsanuddin Amanullah said.

ED lied about insulin requirement for Kejriwal: Atishi
Atishi Monday alleged that the ED «lied» in court about consulting specialists from AIIMS over whether Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, a diabetic, needs insulin. Kejriwal had on Friday moved a fresh plea seeking consultation with his physician for 15 minutes every day and administration of insulin in jail. Addressing a press conference, Atishi said, «The ED lied in court and said specialists from AIIMS were consulted and they have said that no insulin is needed and have also formulated a diet chart for Kejriwal.» «However, the diet chart was not prepared by an endocrinologist or diabetologist, but by a dietician. We all know that dieticians are not MBBS doctors. On the basis of that diet cart, they have been saying in court that Kejriwal does not need insulin,» she said.

Azam Khan, a Samajwadi Party leader who has been removed from the fray because of his imprisonment. After almost five decades, Lok Sabha elections are going to be held in the complete absence of Rampur's 'Khan,' who held the sway over its voters all these years. Famous for its cultural and historical heritage, Rampur was the political stronghold of the Nawabs in the early decades after Independence. After that, the political rise of Azam Khan in the 80s eclipsed all his rivals ever since. Khan, who had a stronghold on the politics of Rampur from 1978 to 2022, is currently serving seven years of imprisonment in the case of a fake birth certificate of his son Abdullah Azam.

BJP relies on Nitin Gadkari's appeal, Congress on candidate's caste pull
BJP's nominee from this seat Nitin Gadkari. Gadkari is seeking a third term from this high-profile seat, where the RSS headquarters is located. He is targeting to win by a margin of over 5 lakh votes. His main challenger is local MLA and Congress Nagpur unit chief Vikas Thakre. Nagpur, which was once a Congress bastion, has been with the BJP since 2014 when Gadkari first contested from here. Prior to that, the BJP won only once in 1996. While the BJP is counting on the development brought in by Gadkari, his personal appeal and connection, the Congress is relying on the 'DMK' (Dalits, Muslims and Kunbis) factor. Thakre is an OBC and hails from the Kunbi caste.

Patanjali's Ramdev, Balkrishna still not off the hook, says Supreme Court
Supreme Court on Tuesday said Patanjali Ayurved Managing Director Acharya Balkrishna and cofounder and self-styled yoga guru Baba Ramdev are still «not off the hook,» despite the duo tendering “unqualified and unconditional apology” in person for promoting misleading advertisements of their ayurveda products. The apex court also gave Ramdev and Balkrishna a week’s time to take steps “to redeem themselves and demonstrate” their bona fides in relation to the advertisements and asked both to be present before it on April 23, the next hearing. A bench comprising justices Hima Kohli and Ahsanuddin Amanullah, conversing in Hindi, noted that Ramdev had made significant contributions to yoga. But Justice Kohli said: “We have not decided whether to forgive you or not. We will think about it. Your history is similar. We are keeping in mind your previous role. You have violated (directives) thrice. The earlier orders are under our consideration. You are not so innocent that you do not know what is going on in the court."

Unlocking health benefits: Should you prioritize vegetables over carbs in your meals?
Q: I've heard that it's best for my health to eat a salad before dinner. But if I'm eating vegetables regardless, does the order really matter? A: It's a popular internet health hack: Eat foods in the «right» order — vegetables first, proteins and fats second, carbohydrates last — and you'll significantly reduce your resulting spike in blood sugar, which can therefore reduce cravings, fatigue and health risks like Type 2 diabetes, proponents say.
