Car in convoy of Brij Bhushan's son mows down 2 bike-borne youths in UP's Gonda
escort vehicle, part of the cavalcade of BJP's Kaiserganj Lok Sabha candidate Karan Bhushan Singh, on Wednesday rammed into a motorcycle in Gonda's Colonelganj area, killing two youths and injuring a lady. Singh is the son of Kaiserganj MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, who is facing sexual harassment charges. The incident took place around 9 am near Huzurpur road crossing. The two youths — Rehan and Shehzad — were brought to the Colonelganj community health centre, where they were declared dead. The police took the vehicle, a Toyota Fortuner, into custody while the driver was arrested. According to their father, the two boys were going to get medicines. One of them had returned from Saudi Arabia. Following the accident, villagers gathered and protested against the accident, but were pacified by the police. A first information report was registered against the driver under sections 304A, 427, 279 and 184 of the Indian Penal Code.

Pune car crash: A court here on Monday remanded two doctors and an employee of Sassoon General Hospital arrested in connection with the Porsche crash in police custody till May 30. The police produced the three in the court of Judicial Magistrate First Class (Small Causes) A A Pande and sought their custody for 10 days. Earlier in the day, the police arrested Dr Ajay Taware, head of the state-run hospital's Forensic Medicine department and Dr Shrihari Halnor, the chief medical officer for alleged manipulation of blood samples and destruction of evidence in the case, an official had said. The third arrested person, Atul Ghatkamble, works under Dr Tawre.

Interim stay on order suspending manufacture of 14 Patanjali drugs: Official
interim stay was put on Friday on the implementation of an order suspending manufacturing licences of more than a dozen medicines of Patanjali Ayurved Ltd and Divya Pharmacy. The interim stay is being imposed with immediate effect on the basis of a preliminary inquiry report of a high level committee, Pankaj Kumar Pandey, Secretary Ayush, Uttarakhand government said in an order. «The order of the suspension is illegal and should not have been passed by the licensing authority in the manner it has been passed,» the committee looking into the matter said in its report. The firms had challenged the last month's suspension order of the Uttarakhand state licensing authority.

NEW DELHI : In order to come up with more clarity about provisions for drugs to be declared as over-the-counter (OTC), the centre has set a three months timeframe for an all doctor's expert committee to provide with suggestion, according to officials aware of the matter. The expert committee consists of eight members including doctors from LHMC, Safdarjung Hospital, PGIMER, SMS Medical College to examine matters regarding amendment of the Drugs Rules in line with recommendations from the Drugs Technical Advisory Board (DTAB).
