Buy or sell stocks for today: Following strong global market sentiments, Indian stock market resumed uptrend after falling for two straight sessions. NSE Nifty gained 107 points and closed at 19,753 levels, BSE Sensex went up 367 points and closed at 66,527 mark whereas Bank Nifty finished 183 points higher at 45,651 levels.

MUMBAI : Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL) and Adani Energy Solutions Ltd (AESL), previously known as Adani Transmission Ltd, on Monday, reported mixed financial results for the first quarter of FY2024. Adani Green Energy’s consolidated net profit increased by 50.5% year-on-year to ₹322 crore from ₹214 crore in the previous year, while its revenue rose by 41.3% to ₹2,404 crore from ₹1,701 crore in Q1 FY2023. AGEL’s Ebitda from power supply increased by 53% year-on-year to ₹1,938 crore, with a high Ebitda margin of 92.5%.

Nifty on Monday resumed the uptrend after a two-day fall and ended about 108 points higher above the 19,750 mark to form a green candle with a minor lower shadow on the daily chart. After forming a series of higher highs and higher lows over the last 2 months, Nifty seems to have formed minor degrees of lower highs and lower lows in the last 4-5 sessions amidst range movement. This pattern could be reflecting ongoing consolidation in the market.

ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company Ltd. gained 0.16 per cent to Rs 1375.0 in Monday's trade as of 01:50PM (IST). The stock hit a high price of Rs 1380.7 and low of Rs 1350.0 during the session.

Varun Beverages Ltd. rose 0.37 per cent to Rs 801.5 in Monday's trade. It hit an intraday high of Rs 807.3 and low of Rs 796.0, respectively, during the day.

SRF Ltd. traded 0.04 per cent down in Monday's trade at 12:08PM (IST). Around 8,791 shares changed hands on the counter.

Pidilite Industries Ltd. slipped 0.29 per cent to Rs 2609.1 in Monday's trade as of 12:18PM (IST). It hit a high of Rs 2626.9 and low of Rs 2605.05 during the session.

ITC as the multibagger Nifty stock has fallen around 7% after hitting an all-time record high of Rs 499.70 on July 24. Although the market has reacted negatively to the much-awaited announcement of the demerger of the hotels business, analysts see it as a positive development with target prices going up to Rs 560. It is expected that ITC Hotels will get listed on stock exchanges in the next 12-18 months following approval from regulators, including NCLT.

Shree Cements Ltd. traded 0.64 per cent up in Monday's trade at 11:22AM (IST). Around 542 shares changed hands on the counter.

Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd. traded 0.41 per cent higher in Monday's session at 11:27AM (IST).

The NSE Nifty index was trading 48.65 points up at 19694.7, while BSE Sensex was up 176.36 points at 66336.56 at the time of writing this report. In the Nifty index, NTPC Ltd.(up 2.86 per cent), Tata Steel Ltd.(up 2.49 per cent), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.(up 2.32 per cent), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 2.16 per cent) and Hindalco Industries Ltd.(up 1.99 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Bharat Forge(up 1.41 per cent), Ashok Leyland(up 1.39 per cent), Hero MotoCorp(up 1.37 per cent), Tata Motors(up 1.2 per cent) and Balkrishna Industries(up 0.71 per cent) were among the top gainers. TIINDIA(down 0.66 per cent), Sona BLW Precision Forgings(down 0.64 per cent), Eicher Motors(down 0.54 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 0.34 per cent) and MRF(down 0.23 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
