Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.27% in an upbeat market

Bharat Forge(up 1.41 per cent), Ashok Leyland(up 1.39 per cent), Hero MotoCorp(up 1.37 per cent), Tata Motors(up 1.2 per cent) and Balkrishna Industries(up 0.71 per cent) were among the top gainers. TIINDIA(down 0.66 per cent), Sona BLW Precision Forgings(down 0.64 per cent), Eicher Motors(down 0.54 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 0.34 per cent) and MRF(down 0.23 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was up 0.27 per cent at 15579.9 at the time of writing this report. Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 45.2 points at 19691.25, while the BSE Sensex was up 155.37 points at 66315.57.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 31 were trading in the green, while 19 were in the red. Shares of Vodafone Idea, Indian Railway Fin, Suzlon Energy, Ujjivan SFB and Reliance Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Lloyds Steels, STEL Holdings, Bhagyanagar Ind, Jagsonpal Pharm and BLS Int. Services hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Supreme Engineering, Setubandhan Infra, BKM Industries, Advitiya Trade India and Bharatiya Glo hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
