Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.46% in an upbeat market
Gland Pharma(up 20.0 per cent), Biocon(up 3.23 per cent), Cipla(up 2.57 per cent), Laurus(up 2.0 per cent) and Natco Pharma(up 1.82 per cent) were among the top gainers. Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 1.65 per cent), Divis Laboratories(down 1.27 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma(down 0.71 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals(down 0.37 per cent) and Lupin(down 0.29 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.46 per cent at 15550.5 at the time of writing this report. Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 1.15 points at 19598.45, while the BSE Sensex was up 2.16 points at 65955.64.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 20 were trading in the green, while 28 were in the red. Shares of Vodafone Idea, Indian Railway Fin, Zomato, Reliance Power and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
