Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.51% in a weak market
Gland Pharma(up 3.33 per cent), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 3.18 per cent), Glaxosmithkline Pharmaceuticals(up 2.29 per cent), Natco Pharma(up 1.73 per cent) and Ipca Laboratories(up 1.56 per cent) were among the top gainers. Divis Laboratories(down 2.01 per cent), Sanofi India(down 0.78 per cent), Cipla(down 0.75 per cent), Abbott India(down 0.32 per cent) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 0.08 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.51 per cent at 15658.3 at the time of writing this report. Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 80.95 points at 19489.9, while the BSE Sensex was down 310.27 points at 65536.23.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 18 were trading in the green, while 31 were in the red. Shares of Suzlon Energy, Indian Railway Fin, Reliance Power, Bank of Maharashtra and Zomato were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
