Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.35% in an upbeat market
Gland Pharma(up 1.13 per cent), Alkem Laboratories(up 1.02 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(up 0.98 per cent), Ipca Laboratories(up 0.94 per cent) and Abbott India(up 0.74 per cent) were among the top gainers. Sanofi India(down 0.64 per cent), Glaxosmithkline Pharmaceuticals(down 0.58 per cent), Pfizer(down 0.48 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals(down 0.36 per cent) and Zydus Lifesciences(down 0.06 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.35 per cent at 15325.7 at the time of writing this report. Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 48.25 points at 19358.4, while the BSE Sensex was up 178.12 points at 65126.78.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 39 were trading in the green, while 11 were in the red. Shares of Suzlon Energy, Indian Railway Fin, YES Bank, Vodafone Idea and NMDC Steel were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
