Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.06% in an upbeat market
Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 0.94 per cent), Federal Bank Ltd.(up 0.62 per cent), Punjab National Bank(up 0.51 per cent), Bank of Baroda(up 0.35 per cent) and Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(up 0.04 per cent) were among the top gainers.
HDFC Bank Ltd.(down 0.39 per cent), IDFC First Bank Ltd.(down 0.25 per cent), Bandhan Bank Ltd.(down 0.25 per cent), State Bank of India(down 0.19 per cent) and Axis Bank Ltd.(down 0.08 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Bank index was down 0.06 per cent at 44552.4 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 45.15 points at 19573.95, while the BSE Sensex was up 132.19 points at 65760.33.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 33 were trading in the green, while 17 were in the red.
Shares of Indian Railway Fin, YES Bank, JP Power, MMTC and NHPC were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Century Extrus, MMTC, Raymond, Zeal Global Services and Agarwal Float Glass hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Penta Gold, Sanco Industries, GNA Axles, Allcargo Terminals and FutureLifestyleFash hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
