Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.23% in an upbeat market
Punjab National Bank(up 1.59 per cent), Federal Bank Ltd.(up 1.25 per cent), State Bank of India(up 0.65 per cent), Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(up 0.5 per cent) and ICICI Bank Ltd.(up 0.39 per cent) were among the top gainers.
IDFC First Bank Ltd.(down 0.66 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Bank index was up 0.23 per cent at 44512.75 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 7.45 points at 19618.5, while the BSE Sensex was up 19.25 points at 65899.77.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 26 were trading in the green, while 24 were in the red.
Shares of JP Power, Indian Railway Fin, Vodafone Idea, YES Bank and Reliance Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Responsive Ind., Cochin Shipyard, Usha Martin, TVS Supply Chain Sol and GRSE hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Bombay Metrics Suppl, Penta Gold, Redtape L, Sanco Industries and Pyramid Technoplast hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
