Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.28% in an upbeat market
Ipca Laboratories(up 2.69 per cent), Gland Pharma(up 1.44 per cent), Natco Pharma(up 1.11 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals(up 1.11 per cent) and Biocon(up 1.04 per cent) were among the top gainers.
Pfizer(down 0.54 per cent), Divis Laboratories(down 0.34 per cent), Alkem Laboratories(down 0.27 per cent), Glaxosmithkline Pharmaceuticals(down 0.18 per cent) and Dr Reddys Laboratories(down 0.1 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.28 per cent at 15324.7 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 39.85 points at 19483.85, while the BSE Sensex was up 142.19 points at 65575.49.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 35 were trading in the green, while 14 were in the red.
Shares of Suzlon Energy, GMR Infra, Indian Railway Fin, Manappuram Finance and South Indian Bnk were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Kopran Ltd, Bajaj Hindusthan Su, VELS Film Internatio, Titagarh Wagons and GMR Infra hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Jio Financial Servic, Penta Gold, Sadhana Nitro, TVS Supply Chain Sol and Shrenik hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
