Canada also claimed that had held numerous ‘meetings’ to make India aware of the ‘credible allegations’ which state India and its intelligence agency was involved in Nijjar's killing. Since then, Ottawa and New Delhi announced tit-for-tat expulsions of diplomats in the wake of Trudeau's allegation of Indian involvement in Nijjar's killing. India also suspended visa services for Canadian citizens amid the festering diplomatic fallout of Trudeau's charge.

Amazon managers should not need face time for supervision
fire employees who don’t come in at least three days every week. This puts middle managers at Amazon, long known for its “churn and burn" approach to managing its workforce, in an impossible position. Sack people who aren’t coming in—but who might be doing a very good job from home and could be difficult to replace—or risk their own futures if they do not boost attendance rates.

Steel ministry nod must for imports not cleared by BIS
steel ministry's nod mandatory for imports which have not been cleared by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), a move aimed at a crackdown on substandard goods. The decision comes after the BIS issued a quality control order for a variety of steel products and importers were mandated by the Centre to seek prior quality approval of import consignments which were meant for sale locally. Domestic steel importers said this may reduce imports of steel products which had surged in recent months. India's iron and steel imports stood at 7.68 million tonnes (mt) between April and August, up 59.45% from 4.82 mt a year ago. Under the existing policy, BIS certification is issued to eligible overseas steel mills.

Debt not a concern, focus is on capacity expansion: JSW Steel
JSW Steel as the company's financial ratios remain healthy and it invests in expansion, joint managing director Jayant Acharya said. The Mumbai-based steelmaker has a consolidated net debt of ₹69,195 crore as of September 30, growing more than 5% year-on-year and almost 4% sequentially. «I don't think debt is a concern at all,» Acharya told ET in an interview. «Our cash position and undrawn lines are also quite healthy.» JSW Steel's net debt to Ebitda ratio stood at 2.52 at the end of the September quarter. While the latest numbers for peers are not released yet, as of March 31, Tata Steel and Jindal Steel and Power (JSP) had net debt to Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization (Ebitda) ratios of 2 and 0.7 compared to JSW Steel's 3.6. Acharya said the company's debt ratios were in a comfortable position. «We do not see any pressure because of the debt on our brownfield expansions or any kind of acquisition which makes structural or economic sense to us,» he said. The stock of JSW Steel closed 2.9% lower on Monday at ₹747.9 on the BSE.

How not to overspend at sales: Ways to avoid retailer tricks, cognitive biases that make you binge during festive season
Sale may not be your regular crusty four-letter word, but it packs quite a punch. Within sniffing distance of festive season, it sends adrenaline racing and minds gearing to succumb to temptation. Triggering a spending mania that grips the entire nation, it knocks over well-laid budgets, disrupting cash flows and relationships, while lifting the fortunes of retailers and sellers. So, it’s no surprise that Flipkart’s The Big Billion Days sale, from 8-15 October this year, recorded 1.4 billion customer visits, with its Plus memberships reportedly witnessing a 60% increase over last year’s sale.

Push on to ban N.S. landlords from having pet-free buildings. Not everyone agrees
Nova Scotia’s NDP party tabled a bill titled the “Family Pet Renter Protection Act” that, if successful, would prevent landlords from adding “no pet” clauses to rental agreements.Jefferson Hutt, a Halifax man who recently found a place to stay after spending the last six months in his car, said his dog Trip was a loyal companion for him during an increasingly challenging period.“Trip’s been a saviour,” he said.Hutt said being a pet owner and operating on a limited budget made the process of finding somewhere to stay quite difficult. He added that his dog recently broke his leg after being struck by a vehicle, and the medical costs associated with the recovery costed him an “unbelievable” amount of money.“I can’t let go of him right now.
