Is King Charles’ power in the royal family slowly slipping? Here are early signs
King Charles' authority within the royal family is gradually diminishing. For the majority of this year, King Charles has been driven out of Clarence House every week in a car, usually, the State Bentley, to undergo cancer treatment in public, something no British monarch has ever done before, as quoted in a report by The New York Post. It has only now, eight months after this scene has unfolded, been made public that Charles has made the startling choice to cease his treatment. That is, temporarily, as he and Queen Camilla are scheduled to travel to our southern woods this week for an 11-day tour.

Kuki Inpi Jiribam, Tamenglong & Noney (KIJTN) has sought withdrawal of Manipur State Police from Mongbung and Sejang Villages. KIJTN stated it is compelled to issue a notification expressing its displeasure against the policy of the Jiribam/State Police Department regarding the encirclement of Mongbung and Sejang Villages. Delhi court refuses to cancel lookout circular against ATS Infrastructure's promotor
Delhi court has refused to cancel a lookout circular (LOC) against real estate company ATS Infrastructure Limited's promotor Geetamber Anand and his wife Poonam Anand in connection with multiple FIRs lodged against the builder. The FIRs include those lodged by the Economic Offence Wing (EOW) of Delhi Police for allegedly defrauding homebuyers, and another a money laundering case filed by the Enforcement Directorate. Judicial Magistrate Yashdeep Chahal, in an order passed on September 13, said the accused had appeared to join the investigation as and when required, however, «the LOC appeared to be a safeguard to ensure that judicial process is not frustrated in any manner». «Even if the applicants are directed to obtain prior permission of the court before travelling abroad, the accused could always travel without obtaining any such permission and there would be no way for the court to enforce a condition of that nature,» he said.

New allegations, old wounds: India rejects Canada’s accusations as diplomatic crisis worsens
covert operations on Canadian soil. The accusations center on the alleged involvement of Indian agents in the killing of Sikh separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, who was shot dead in British Columbia in June last year. Canadian authorities have now claimed that Indian agents are working in collaboration with criminal gangs, including the Bishnoi gang, to carry out covert operations targeting South Asian Canadians. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau reiterated his government’s stance at a press conference, saying, “Canada will never tolerate the involvement of a foreign government in threatening and killing Canadian citizens on Canadian soil.” He emphasized that the findings of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) provided “clear and compelling evidence” that agents of the Indian government are engaged in activities that pose a significant threat to public safety. Trudeau detailed the evidence, stating, “This includes clandestine information gathering techniques, coercive behavior targeting South Asian Canadians, and involvement in over a dozen threatening and violent acts, including murder. This is unacceptable.”

UN officials urge Bangladesh to protect minorities from attacks
United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues Hindou Oumarou Ibrahim and the UN Special Rapporteur on the rights of Indigenous Peoples José Francisco Cali Tzay in a joint statement called upon the Interim Government of Bangladesh “to take immediate action to protect the Jumma Peoples from violent and indiscriminate attacks, conduct an impartial commission of enquiry into allegations of violence and prosecute perpetrators to end the culture of impunity” regarding recent human rights violations committed in the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHTs) in September 2024. In their joint statement, the UN experts stated, “The recent violence is set against a backdrop of broader discrimination and marginalization of the Indigenous Jumma Peoples, who for decades have been subjected to forced evictions and heightened militarization of the region”. Most importantly, the UN experts called on “social media companies to take all relevant steps to prevent their platforms from disseminating hate speech and misinformation regarding the Indigenous Jumma Peoples.”
