But ‘American Prometheus’ claims that Oppenheimer himself described this incident, but it is not clear if the incident has been exaggerated. Another point of contention in this controversy is the nature o the poison. The book suggests that a non-lethal poison might have been injected and not cyanide. Another book, ‘A Life Inside the Center’ written by Ray Monk also describes this incident. It also says that Oppenheimer’s intention might have been to make the tutor seriously sick.
