Q4 results 2024: Ahead of the announcement of Vedanta Q4 results today, the Indian metal major Vedanta shares witnessed selling pressure in early morning deals. Vedanta share price today opened downside at ₹380 apiece on NSE and went on to touch an intraday low of ₹377.10 per share, recording around 1.65 percent intraday loss during Thursday deals.

Apple lost its crown as China's biggest smartphone seller in the first quarter of 2024 as its smartphone shipments fell 6.6% from a year ago amid intense competition, preliminary data from research firm IDC showed on Thursday. Honor and Huawei were tied for the top spot, with Honor's market share rising to 17.1% and Huawei's share climbing to 17%, IDC said, while the iPhone maker's market share fell to 15.6%.

IHG Hotels & Resorts said on Wednesday it will double its presence in India in the next five years to 100 operating hotels. The company said it recorded a 'strong' signing performance in 2023 with 13 deals closed across its brands in the luxury, premium and essentials categories and that it strengthened its footprint in markets such as Gurgaon, Jim Corbett, Mumbai, Amritsar and Goa. The chain said close to 70% of the signings were in the midscale and upper midscale segments, which continues to be a growth driver for the company in India, followed by premium and luxury.
