Credible media important for qualitative transformation of democracy: Nitin Gadkari
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Thursday said credible media is important for the qualitative transformation of democracy and socio-economic development of the country. Addressing an event here, Gadkari said every politician expects media support, but the media should support what is good for democracy and the country. He noted that once upon a time, people were only dependent on print media and electronic media, now they are dependent on social media. «In media, what we need is credibility, goodwill...people are expecting information from the media by which they can make the qualitative transformation of our democracy,» the minister said.

Third Eye: Left wondering, on lighter note and coconut weapon
Left wondering In a move that has left the Naval community confused, former Navy chief Admiral Hari Kumar has quit as chairman of National Maritime Foundation. Traditionally, the most recently retired Navy chief functions as chairman of the foundation. While he took charge just a few months ago, those still part of the foundation are wondering what triggered Admiral Kumar's move. On lighter note The collapse of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s statue in Sindhudurg has caused a political storm in Maharashtra. But there was a lighter side to the issue too. Asked if this is a bad omen for BJP ahead of assembly polls, a senior BJP leader said Sharad Pawar does not believe in such superstitions, so collapse will not be viewed as a positive or negative sign by him and his followers. This logic could be debatable as Pawar, Sena (UBT) and Congress have aggressively cornered BJP on the incident.

How JD Vance found his way to the Catholic church
JD Vance would go to St. Gertrude to meet the friar. It was a fitting place for the millennial aspiring politician, who was drawn to the Catholic Church's ancient ways. For years he had flirted with joining the church. Now he wanted to explore the desire in earnest. St. Gertrude Church was led by the Dominican Friars from the Province of St. Joseph, part of a religious order founded in 1216. Its sanctuary smelled of incense but felt modern, its concrete walls pierced with bright stained-glass rectangles in reds and blues.

It will be a self-sabotage for him: JMM leader Manoj Pandey on Champai Soren
Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren may quit the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) party and join another front, JMM leader Manoj Pandey warned that such a move would be self-sabotage for Soren. Speaking to on Sunday, Pandey said, «Champai Soren is a cautious leader and remains a member of the party. It wouldn't be appropriate for me to comment on any of his remarks. However, if he does make such remarks and leaves the party for another, such as the BJP, it would be self-sabotage for him.» Pandey added that he «can't believe that a mature politician like Soren would make such a decision to join the BJP, which is already a sinking ship.»
