Steve Harwell, the former lead vocalist of Smash Mouth, has passed away at the age of 56. The band's representative confirmed this sad news. Harwell, who retired from Smash Mouth in 2021, died at his home in Boise, Idaho, on September 4, 2023, while under hospice care. A statement from Smash Mouth's manager, Robert Hayes, conveyed, «Steve Harwell passed away this morning, September 4, 2023, at his home in Boise, Idaho. Smash Mouth, known for hits like «Walkin' on the Sun» and «All Star,» achieved success in the late 1990s. In 2000, «All Star» was nominated for a Grammy Award. While Smash Mouth released their last album, «Magic,» in 2012, they also unveiled an acoustic version of their debut album, «Fush Yu Mang,» in 2018. Iran accuses Israel of supplying potentially exploding parts for ballistic missile program
Iran accused Israel on Thursday of trying to sabotage its ballistic missile program through faulty foreign parts that could explode, damaging or destroying the weapons before they could be used. Israel did not immediately acknowledge the accusation, made in a report aired on Iranian state television. The report described the alleged Israeli operation as «one of the biggest attempts at sabotage» it had ever seen. It accused Israeli Mossad agents of supplying the faulty parts, which the state TV report described as low-price «connectors.» Footage aired by state TV showed the alleged parts, some of them popping up into the air. The report did not say when authorities discovered the faulty parts, nor if they had been installed in any ballistic missile prior.

Fed Elevates Ambiguity to the Heart of Monetary Policy at Jackson Hole
A famous market adage says bond vigilantes are just like equity perma-bears, except for the fact that they understand math. That’s probably because, unlike perma-bears, vigilantes are famous for knowing when the risk-premia is too unfavorable for them — and just when it isn't.

Miley Cyrus reveals she was unware about Sinéad O’Connor mental health during 'Wrecking Ball' feud
Sinéad O’Connor raised concerns about Miley Cyrus' «Wrecking Ball» music video through an open letter. At that time, the young pop star, then 20 years old, responded by mocking the late singer-songwriter of «Nothing Compares 2 U.» However, in her latest Hulu special titled «Endless Summer Vacation: Continued (Backyard Sessions),» Cyrus reflects on the past feud with O'Connor and acknowledges that she was unaware of the Grammy winner's battles with mental health. The exchange between the two artists began when Cyrus compared her «Wrecking Ball» music video to O'Connor's «Nothing Compares 2 U» video in an interview with Rolling Stone. This led O'Connor to respond with an open letter. In 2013, Cyrus retorted by poking fun at some of O'Connor's tweets and drawing a comparison between her and Amanda Bynes, who was publicly grappling with mental health issues. Cyrus now looks back on that episode and her reaction during that time in her Hulu special «Endless Summer Vacation: Continued (Backyard Sessions).» Furthermore, Cyrus has recently released her latest single «Used to Be Young,» in which she contemplates her partying days and embraces the reality that she has evolved from the person she once was.
