A joint statement was issued by K. Sapdanga, Home Minister Mizoram and Atul Bora, Assam Minister for Border Protection & Development Department, Assam in Aizawl on Friday. The statement stated it is reaffirmed that the Goodwill Mission' between the Government of Mizoram and the Government of Assam held on 9th August 2024 at Aizawl, Mizoram is to take forward the firm commitment and initiative made in the meeting on 9th February 2024 between the Chief Minister of Assam and the Chief Minister of Mizoram for resolution of the inter-State boundary dispute in an atmosphere of understanding and goodwill between the two States. Both the States agreed to continue to promote and maintain peace and harmony and prevent any untoward incidents along the inter State border. Joint Cultural and Sports festivals may be organised at frequent intervals by concerned administrative authorities of the inter-State border Districts of Mizoram and Assam to start before 31 January 2025.

Pune city has recorded 73 confirmed cases of Zika virus infections since June, according to civic officials on Thursday. The Zika virus, a mosquito-borne disease, spreads rapidly during the monsoon season when mosquitoes breed in stagnant water. The first case in Pune was reported on June 20, and out of the infected individuals, four have died. While these four patients had pre-existing conditions or age-related issues, the virus significantly impairs the immunity of those affected. Of the 73 infected, 26 are pregnant women, which exposes them to the risk of microcephaly, a birth defect where a child's head is smaller than usual for their age. Zika infections during pregnancy can also lead to stillbirth, pre-term birth, or fetal loss. Long-term effects of the virus on adults are still under investigation.

NPCI) decision to temporarily block C-Edge Technologies from the retail payments system averted a systemic impact, Reserve Bank of India Governor Shaktikanta Das said on Thursday. Nearly a fortnight ago, IT service provider C-Edge Technologies had been possibly impacted by a Ransomware attack impacting the retail payment systems of a few regional rural banks and co-operative banks. «The NPCI's decision to block further transactions wherever this service provider had been engaged was to isolate the problem, and if that had not been done it could have produced a system wide impact,» said Shaktikanta Das, Governor, RBI. «That would have been far more costly.» A ransomware attack by the RansomEXX group had hit India’s banking system and payment firms. The attack had primarily impacted Brontoo Technology Solutions, a key collaborator with C-EDGE, a joint venture between TCS and SBI. C-Edge had hired Brontoo Technology Solutions to deploy connectivity with Bharat Bill Payment System (BBPS).

According to a press release by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, he identified state government delays in releasing premium amounts as the primary cause of payment delays and urged prompt action. The central government will release its share immediately to prevent further delays, with payments being made directly to farmers' accounts from the Kharif season onward. Chouhan attributed the bulk of payment delays to issues such as delayed release of premium amounts by state governments and disputes between insurers and state authorities.
