Odisha govt to set up Rs 562-crore aviation training centre
Odisha government has decided to set up a Rs 562-crore aviation training centre to meet future demand for pilots and skilled personnel in the sector, a minister said. A proposal to set up Biju Patnaik Aviation Centre (BPAC) at Birasal airstrip in Dhenkanal district was approved at a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday. The proposed centre will provide training for pilots, simulators and cabin crew, Revenue Minister Sudam Marndi told reporters after the cabinet meeting. The training centre will be established in accordance with the Civil Aviation Policy-2022 of the state government, he said.

CBIC issues circular to encourage women participation in trade
logistics service providers and custom brokers as well as for custodians of freight stations to ensure safe and secure working environment. The CBIC has issued two circulars coinciding with International Women's Day on March 8. One relates to encouraging women participation in international trade, while the other is on inclusion of gender specific infrastructure facilities to be provided by the custodians of Inland Container Depot (ICD), container freight station (CFS) and Air Freight Stations (AFS). «It has been decided that in addition the existing infrastructural facilities as provided by the custodian CFS/AFS/ICD — following gender specific infrastructure facilities may also be encouraged for inclusiveness of women participation,» it said.

Gujarat govt launches schemes to provide financial assistance to students of Classes 9 to 12
financial assistance to students from Classes 9 to 12, for which the government has allocated Rs 1,650 crore in the state budget. Under its "Namo Lakshmi Yogana", the government will provide Rs 50,000 to girls studying in Classes 9 to 12 over four years, while Rs 25,000 will be given to both girls and boys who have opted for the science stream in Classes 11 and 12 under the "Namo Saraswati Vigyan Sadhana Yojana", a release stated. «These two significant schemes have been initiated this year to fulfil Prime Minister Narendra Modi's commitment to girls' education, encouraging girls to pursue secondary and higher secondary education and to promote science education,» the state government said in a statement. The chief minister launched the schemes from Gyanda High School in Ahmedabad, with around 35,000 students of primary and secondary schools and educators from across the state participating virtually in the online programme.
