Fed governor Bowman sceptical on digital dollar
The Fed has been investigating the pros and cons of a digital dollar for several years, publishing a discussion paper on the issue in January 2022. At a Harvard Law School event on Tuesday, Bowman argued that the US has a "safe and efficient" payments system that is already evolving with "responsible innovations, notably the recently-launched FedNow. She continued: "Future innovations may further build upon these services to more effectively address payment systems frictions and financial inclusion. It is quite possible that other proposed solutions may address many or all of the problems that a CBDC would address, but in a more effective and efficient way." Meanwhile, a retail CBDC could have unintended consequences for the US banking system and considerable consumer privacy concerns, said Bowman. "If not properly designed, a CBDC could disrupt the banking system and lead to disintermediation, potentially harming consumers and businesses and presenting broader financial stability risks." Despite her scepticism, Bowman said that she sees value in continuing to research CBDCs, noting the "interconnected and global nature of the financial system".

Julia Fox talks about relationship with Kanye West in 'Down The Drain'. Know about her memoir
Julia Fox has talked candidly about her brief fling with rapper Kanye West in her book 'Down The Drain'. The 336-page book is largely a chronological account of Fox’s life, but it is harrowing, achingly sad at times, and a narcotics-soaked shock to the system. By the end of the memoir, the reader is amazed that Julia Fox survived so many overdoses of heroin, brutal frights, and broken relationships to tell the tale.

Is Rihanna engaged to A$AP Rocky? Here’s what happened
Rihanna headed out in New York City to celebrate A$AP Rocky's recent birthday. The couple appeared stylish as they marked the rapper's 35th birthday, a few days after his actual birthday on October 3. The rapper wore a light-colored jacket and slacks, while Rihanna donned denim pants and a jacket, pairing it with a tied white button-up, a visible black bra, dark sunglasses, and a massive jewel-encrusted ring on her left ring finger. It remains uncertain if the ring signifies an engagement. Rihanna and A$AP Rocky, who are parents to sons RZA and Riot Rose, were seen dancing together in a couple of videos shared on Twitter. One video showed them engaging in a dance-off to the tune of «Throw Sum Mo» by Rae Sremmurd, Nicki Minaj and Young Thug. This birthday gathering occurred soon after Drake released his album «For All the Dogs,» leading fans to believe he dissed Rihanna with lyrics like, «Why they make it sound like I’m still hung up on you?/ That could never be …» While neither Rihanna nor A$AP Rocky have publicly responded to Drake's remarks, fans took to social media to criticize Drake on Rihanna's behalf.

Nicki Minaj’s husband Kenneth Petty faces 120-day house arrest. Here’s what happened
Kenneth Petty, Nicki Minaj's spouse, is now serving 120 days of house detention for violating his probation terms. This violation stemmed from social media clips where he seemed to threaten rapper Offset. A court order filed recently in California's Central District directed Petty to undergo home monitoring due to recorded threats directed at a specific individual, identified as Offset. These threats were evident in social media posts made on September 16. Petty received a three-year probation sentence in July 2022 after admitting guilt for failing to register as a sex offender in California in 2020. His criminal history includes a 1995 conviction for first-degree attempted rape of a 16-year-old girl, resulting in a four-year prison term in New York. The viral video from September 16 showed Petty and his companions outside a New York City hotel, where Offset was reportedly staying. Amid various menacing remarks, Petty uttered, «Plan that vacation, you gonna be planning your funeral, pussy!» Offset, formerly part of the Migos rap group and Cardi B's husband, responded to the threats in a video on his social media platform. He downplayed the situation, saying, «I'm getting off a jet, he's funny,» and suggested that Petty was financially unstable. It's worth noting that Nicki Minaj and Cardi B have a history of feuding, culminating in a physical altercation at the Harper’s Bazaar Icons party during New York Fashion Week in September 2018. Videos from the event circulated widely on social media, depicting Cardi B lunging at Minaj and initiating an altercation.

Adidas CEO doubts if Kanye West's antisemitic remarks were serious
Adidas ended a major partnership with Ye over his statements, discontinued Ye’s line of Yeezy shoes and moved up the planned departure of its CEO. In a statement at that time, the company said it “does not tolerate antisemitism and any other sort of hate speech." It added: “Ye’s recent comments and actions have been unacceptable, hateful and dangerous, and they violate the company’s values of diversity and inclusion, mutual respect and fairness." Gulden struck a different tone on the investing podcast “In Good Company." “I think Kanye West is one of the most creative people in the world," Gulden said in an episode released Sept. 12.
