Sukhdool Singh Gill, also known as Sukha Duneke, a notorious gangster-terrorist, embarked on his criminal journey in 2005, initially involved in minor criminal activities. Over the years, he rose through the ranks, establishing an extortion racket and carrying out targeted killings, all the way from his roots in the obscure Duneke village of Punjab's Moga district to Canada.
Tragically, Sukha's life of crime came to a violent end in Winnipeg, Canada, last Thursday, after nearly 18 years of notoriety.
Sukha Duneke was closely associated with Arshdeep Singh, also known as Arsh Dala, who hails from Dala village in Moga. Sukha was a part of the Bambiha gang, originally led by Davinder Bambiha, a native of Bathinda.
Davinder met his demise in a police encounter on September 9, 2016, in Gill Kalan village, Bathinda.
Following Davinder's death, some of his gang members relocated abroad. Sukha, facing seven criminal cases against him at the time, leveraged his influence to have his second passport application approved by the police.
In 2017, he left for Canada, according to sources.
In Canada, Sukha forged connections with Arsh, who is believed to have had contact with the late Hardeep Singh Nijjar, head of the Khalistan Tiger Force. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) filed an FIR on June 10, 2021, under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), alleging that Arsh and other criminals were carrying out extortion and killings in Punjab on Nijjar's orders.
On August 26 of the previous year, Sukha and several other criminals were charged under UAPA for forming a group aimed at recruiting Indian youth for criminal activities, including killings.
In Canada, Sukha was implicated in the murder of UK-based kabaddi player
