Now, a source close to the footballer has revealed how Anthony Martial has found his groove back. The source, talking to The Sun, also revealed one factor that led to the French forward feeling a lot of pressure at Man Utd — Cristiano Ronaldo.
The source claimed that Ronaldo’s return to the Red Devils meant Martial was placed at the “bottom of the pecking order”, just a year after his best ever season for the side.
The forward faced immense pressure after the return of CR7 to the squad and his appearances on the field were limited. The stress to prove himself led to injury issues.
During his time at the club, Martial made 317 appearances for Manchester United, with 90 goals and 46 assists to his credit. He also faced a string of groin, knee, hamstring, muscle, Achilles and hip problems.
