This comes just weeks after a deadly mid-air crash near the airport killed 67 people.
The incident occurred when the Airbus A319, arriving from Boston, was preparing to land shortly before 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, as confirmed by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
According to a statement by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), an air traffic controller directed American Flight 2246 to execute a go-around at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport to maintain a safe distance from another aircraft that had just taken off from the same runway.
