Harris is also predicted (43 per cent-37 per cent) to win the September 10 Presidential debate against Trump. UPS Provident Dreams film Actor reports rights Hema Committee report: Kerala must provide women with a safe and equitable workspace
Justice K Hema Committee report, a poignant section stands out. Narrating her experience, a junior artist describes incidents of male actors harassing her. Apart from the acting parts, she lost out when she rejected sexual propositioning. She also mentions how she worked on a script for the big screen, pouring her heart into it every night after a long day's work. When she is told that this, too, would happen only if she was willing to 'adjust' and 'compromise' — the despicable industry bro code for demands for sex — she gives up on her dream. The 3-member Hema Committee was set up by the Kerala government in 2017 to 'study and report' issues faced by women in cinema, following persistent efforts of the Women in Cinema Collective (WCC) after the sexual assault of a prominent female actor. After the report's court-ordered release recently, the Malayalam film industry is caught in an unprecedented churn. Multiple women have drawn courage from the report's release to publicly share their accounts about the sexual harassment. Some FIRs have been filed, and an SIT has been set up. But how will we measure the number of careers cut short and dreams turned to dust by men controlling the industry — whether opportunities denied to an award-winning actor like Parvathy Thiruvothu or a makeup artist?

Digital Marvell SPY film Universities reports Spider-Man 4: Is Tom Holland returning in 2025? Release date, cast & more
Spider-Man 4 has not yet been officially announced, but fans of the web-slinger need not worry about Tom Holland's return. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige confirmed in July 2024 that he is actively working on the next installment with long-time Spider-Man producer Amy Pascal. Feige revealed that the writing team is expected to deliver a draft of the screenplay soon, as per a report by Digital Spy. However, there may be changes behind the scenes for this new chapter. Jon Watts, who directed the first three Spider-Man films, is reportedly occupied with other projects, which could mean a new director for the fourth installment. Although there is no confirmed release date for Spider-Man 4 as of now, Sony has scheduled an untitled Spider-Man Universe film for June 27, 2025. This date could potentially be earmarked for Holland’s return, though given the tight turnaround and Holland’s recent commitments, including his role in Romeo & Juliet on the West End, this schedule might be optimistic, according to the Digital Spy report.

Provident Align Southern Food Wildlife country reports Namibia plans to butcher 723 wild animals including zebras, hippos, impalas, and even 83 elephants, for meat!
Namibia is planning to cull 723 wild animals, including 83 elephants, to feed the country amid the worst drought in a century, the New York Times has reported. Nearly half of the country's 1.4 million people are in a hunger crisis. The move aims to provide food and reduce dangerous encounters between humans and wildlife due to scarce resources, the report added. According to Namibia's Ministry of Environment, Forestry, and Tourism, the plan is «necessary» and aligns with the constitutional mandate to utilize natural resources for the benefit of Namibian citizens. The strategy of harvesting wild animals for food is not uncommon. Rose Mwebaza, director of the United Nations Environment Programme's Africa Office, stated, «Well-managed, sustainable harvesting of healthy wild animal populations can be a precious source of food for communities.» Drought is impacting a significant portion of southern Africa. The U.N. World Food Program noted in June that over 30 million people in the region are affected. Benjamin Suarato, spokesperson for the U.S. Agency for International Development, mentioned that droughts are a familiar issue in southern Africa, with several occurring in the past decade, including from 2018 to 2021. However, this particular drought is especially severe and wide-reaching, said Juliane Zeidler, country director of the World Wildlife Fund in Namibia.

imports of goods such as umbrellas, toys, certain fabrics, and musical instruments are severely hurting MSMEs as many of these products are also made by domestic businesses, according to think tank GTRI. The report said that during January to June 2024, India exported goods worth only USD 8.5 billion, while imports stood at USD 50.4 billion, resulting in a trade deficit of USD 41.9 billion.
