Indian businesses need to align cyber security budgets with growth objectives: Kaspersky
Indian businesses need to align cyber security budgets with their growth objectives to ensure sustainable expansion in the face of increasing digitalisation and associated risks, a top official of Kaspersky has said. The emergence of new-age technologies, including artificial intelligence and GenAI, is critical for companies to boost their businesses. «In order to grow businesses, you need to digitise. If you don't digitise, you are not going to have that business growth value,» Adrian Hia, Managing Director for the APAC region at Kaspersky, told PTI. At the same time, the digitalisation of businesses increases the attack surface area, opening avenues for risks like sophisticated cyberattacks.

Sweden may start paying 'foreign-born' Swedish passport holders $1000 for leaving it
migration, the Swedish government is considering a unique initiative that would offer financial incentives for «foreign-born» Swedish passport holders to emigrate. According to a report by The National News, this proposal could extend the current voluntary exit scheme, which offers 10,000 Swedish crowns (approximately $960) and travel costs for refugees to leave the country, to include naturalized Swedish citizens and migrant families. The inquiry group behind the proposal emphasized that they do not intend to send a negative message to immigrants, stating, «they are not welcome in Sweden.» Despite this, the group rejected suggestions to increase the grant amount, which has sparked debate. The proposal emerges amid recent data showing that more people left Sweden than arrived last year, marking the first net migration loss in over 50 years. Swedish Migration Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard highlighted the importance of sustainable immigration to strengthen integration and reduce social exclusion. She noted that the number of asylum applications is at a historic low, with asylum-related residence permits continuing to decrease. However, the government's intent to maintain migration control while avoiding sending the wrong message to immigrants remains a delicate balance.

Gen Z users oppose social media limits: poll
American teens are against the idea of regulations that would place restrictions on their use of social media platforms, despite knowing the potential harms to mental and physical health. According to a study designed by the Stanford Deliberative Democracy Lab, more than 60% of newly registered voters in the US oppose requiring kids under age 16 to seek parental consent to use social media. More than 85% of young people think there should be no time limits on when they can receive social media notifications. Parents, lawmakers, regulators and child safety advocates have spent years pushing for rules they say will ease the risks posed by heavy use of these services. But those just reaching voting age are starting to have more influence over who represents them.
