Ola drawing up a route map to join quick commerce party
Ola Electric prepares to list later this week, founder Bhavish Aggarwal is busy charging up his 14-year-old ride-hailing business, according to people in the know. His latest efforts are directed towards tapping the red-hot quick commerce sector and is Ola’s second attempt at the business. Ola Cabs parent firm ANI Technologies plans to set up its own dark stores amid rising demand for rapid deliveries, said these people. Dark stores are small neighbourhood warehouses that stock products delivered by these services. These will be operated by Ola, people briefed on the matter said, adding that robots will be deployed to reduce human involvement. The company also plans to launch its own Unified Payments Interface (UPI) offering for consumers, said the people cited. As Citadel Securities expands, people keep migrating from Goldman Sachs
Citadel Securities has got some big aspirations.Bloomberg reported earlier this month that the electronic trading firm would like to offer a white labelled trading service to banks that presumably would no longer run trading operations of their own. In return for a fee, the vision seems to be that Citadel Securities would manage technology, order analytics and execution. Banks would just need to plug in the clients.

Could Mars Have Harbored Life? NASA's stunning find in Jezero Crater reveals water, organic materials, and more
NASA's Perseverance rover raises the possibility that microbial life once existed on Mars. In the Jezero Crater, the rover discovered a mixture of organic materials, water, and a chemical energy source on a rock. The greatest proof of possible extraterrestrial life on the Red Planet has been found with this discovery, as per the reports of Yahoo news. For the past three years, Perseverance has been investigating the 28-mile-wide Jezero Crater. The rover discovered a rock known as "Cheyava Falls," which contains remains of organic materials, water, and perhaps even chemical reactions. The rock contains a crimson band full of «leopard spots,» which are probably the result of chemical reactions, and two vertical veins of calcium sulfate that were created by water.

Jio's share of data traffic in India rose to about 60% in FY24: RIL annual report
Jio's share in the overall data traffic in India increased to about 60 per cent in 2023-24, according to the annual report of parent firm Reliance Industries Limited. Jio's ahead-of-the-curve investments in next-generation network and digital technologies would sustain a competitive edge and market share gains, it said and added this will ensure strong and consistent shareholder return over the coming years. In the annual report, Reliance Industries' Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani said Jio turned a «Data Dark India» into a «Data Rich» nation with affordable, high-speed 4G data, and followed it up with a 5G network rollout across India in world-record time. According to the annual report, the rollout of the next-generation fixed wireless networks would catalyse demand for high-speed fixed broadband. Rural areas are expected to see a higher uptake of these services due to limited last-mile infrastructure currently.
