The Spectrum rocket, developed by German start-up Isar Aerospace, started smoking from its sides, then crashed back to Earth with a powerful explosion just after launching from Norway's Andoya Spaceport in the Arctic, in live video broadcast on YouTube. Isar Aerospace, which had said it did not expect to reach orbit with the launch, said the two-stage rocket fell into the sea, adding that «the launch pad seems to be intact». Andoya Space, the Norwegian public firm that operates the spaceport, said «crisis response» measures had been activated following the «incident». Trump says 'very angry, pissed off' with Putin
Trump said Sunday he was «very angry, pissed off» with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, NBC reported, marking a sharp change of tone as Washington seeks to end the war in Ukraine. NBC's Kristen Welker said Trump had called her to express his anger over Putin questioning Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's future as a leader — something that Trump himself has done. Welker, on her NBC show «Meet The Press» on Sunday, quoted directly from an early-morning telephone conversation with the president. Trump said that «if Russia and I are unable to make a deal on stopping the bloodshed in Ukraine, and if I think it was Russia's fault» then he would impose «secondary tariffs on all oil coming out of Russia.» Welker said Trump told her «I was very angry, pissed off» when Putin started making comments about Zelensky's credibility and talking about new leadership in Ukraine.

Trump threatens secondary tariffs on Russian oil if unable to make deal on Ukraine
secondary tariffs of 25% to 50% on all Russian oil if he feels Moscow is blocking his efforts to end the war in Ukraine, and they could start within a month if there is no ceasefire. Trump told NBC News he was angry and «pissed off» when Russian President Vladimir Putin criticized the credibility of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy's leadership, NBC reported. Trump told NBC News by phone that he planned to speak with Putin this week. During his 2024 presidential campaign, Trump promised repeatedly to end what he calls a «ridiculous» war in Ukraine, and he has focused heavily on the issue since taking office on January 20. Trump himself has called for new elections in Ukraine and falsely called Zelenskiy a dictator. Putin on Friday suggested Ukraine could be placed under a form of temporary administration to allow for new elections and the signature of key accords, which could effectively push out Zelenskiy.

Top US vaccine official busts RKF Jr's 'lies, misinformation' in resignation letter after being forced to quit
Dr. Peter Marks sent a letter to Acting FDA Commissioner Sara Brenner on Friday saying that he would resign and retire by April 5 as director of the Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research. In his letter, obtained by The Associated Press, Marks said he was “willing to work” to address the concerns expressed by Robert F. Kennedy Jr. about the safety of vaccinations. But he concluded that wasn’t possible. “It has become clear that truth and transparency are not desired by the Secretary, but rather he wishes subservient confirmation of his misinformation and lies,” he wrote. This move by Trump to make cars unaffordable for many American families. Here's why
Lower-income buyers will suffer another blow from expected hikes in used car prices as demand surges and supply shrinks. New cars priced under $30,000 are already rare as the average new-vehicle price approaches $50,000. The only way automakers can eke out profits on economy cars, analysts say, is to build them in nations with lower manufacturing costs. A Reuters review of data from two auto research firms found just 16 models with an average sticker price less than $30,000 and only one, Toyota's Corolla, that is assembled in the United States. All others are made in Mexico, South Korea, or Japan. Slapping a 25% tariff on these low-end cars may force price increases that make them unaffordable to their target market or cause some automakers to abandon them entirely, industry analysts said.

RR VS CSK weather, pitch report: Will rain play a spoilsport? What will the conditions be like in Guwahati today? Check details here
Dhoni's unbeaten 30 off 16 balls only has value for nostalgia merchants as the former India captain is doing disservice to his team by coming in to bat when all is seemingly lost. In this backdrop, playing RR on a surface which is «more Chepauk-ish than typical Barsapara Stadium track full of runs» might just help CSK get a win against a side that also doesn't boast of a great bowling attack. Also Riyan Parag is too raw as a skipper and to put it mildly seems completely out of place for a high stakes assignment like leading a billion dollar franchise. But all these years, CSK had the personnel to play that game, especially in the bowling department, which doesn't look top notch this year.

Trump says 'couldn't care less' if auto prices rise
Trump declared on Saturday that he «couldn't care less» if automakers increase car prices for Americans in the wake of his imposition of import tariffs. There have been reports that Trump threatened auto executives with reprisals if prices jump, but he told NBC News that increasing prices would simply help US-based manufacturers. «I couldn't care less. I hope they raise their prices, because if they do, people are gonna buy American-made cars. We have plenty,» he told NBC host Kristen Welker. On Thursday, Trump imposed a blanket 25 percent import tariff on cars and light trucks made outside the United States, due to take effect on April 3. Tariffs will be delayed for car parts from countries covered by US trade pact with Mexico and Canada as officials try to disentangle the mixed supply chain.

Australian PM Anthony Albanese lures voters with supermarket crackdown
The supermarket crackdown and a surprise income tax cut are among a string of government proposals to ease the cost of living, which voters consistently cite as a top concern. Surveys show the centre-left government and conservative opposition running neck-and-neck in the election race. «Australians deserve a fair go at the checkout. We will hold the big supermarket chains to account,» Albanese told reporters, promising to introduce legislation this year. «Price gouging is when supermarkets are taking the piss,» he said.

12 terrorists killed in drone strikes by Pakistani forces, civilian deaths reported
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of the country. The «counter-terrorism operation» on Saturday morning targeted hideouts of terrorists in the remote hilltop area of Katlang in the Mardan district, the provincial government said in a press note. It confirmed the civilian casualties and suggested that women and children might be among the victims. Later, official reports said 12 terrorists were killed during the operation. The press note, issued on Saturday, said the operation was based on «credible intelligence» about armed militants using the location as a hideout and transit point. It said «several high-value targets linked to ongoing militant activities in the region» were killed in the operation. «Unfortunately, subsequent reports have confirmed the presence of non-combatants, including women and children, at the periphery of the target zone, resulting in tragic civilian casualties,» the press note stated. Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province Ali Amin Gandapur said the death of civilians during the operation was highly condemnable and tragic.

Protesters target 277 Tesla locations in US over Elon Musk's government role, demand resignation
Tesla dealerships to express their opposition to billionaire Elon Musk's involvement in the US government, Al Jazeera reported. Musk, the head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), has faced criticism for his efforts to cut government spending and access sensitive data. The protests, organised by a group including disgruntled Tesla owners, celebrities, and a Democratic lawmaker, aim to pressure Musk to resign from his government position. Saturday's demonstrations marked the first coordinated effort to target all 277 Tesla locations in the US, as per Al Jazeera. In New York City, hundreds of protesters gathered in front of the Manhattan Tesla store, demanding Musk's resignation. These demonstrations coincide with a decline in Tesla sales, which the organizers hope to exacerbate further. The protesters were gathered at the call of environmentalists from Planet Over Profit, who believe that «stopping Musk will save lives and protect our democracy.»

After Neha Kakkar’s accusations, concert organisers make shocking counterclaims of 'huge loss' and calls her a 'mistake'
Neha Kakkar’s Melbourne concert turned controversial after she arrived three hours late, leading to audience frustration and booing. A video of the incident went viral, showing the singer in tears as she apologized to the crowd. Following the backlash, Neha took to social media to clarify her side of the story, blaming the event organisers for multiple failures. She accused them of not providing accommodations, failing to pay vendors, and abandoning the event altogether. However, the organisers have now responded, strongly refuting her claims and have instead blamed her for their loss. The event management company countered Neha’s allegations, calling them completely false. They insisted that they had made all necessary arrangements, including securing luxury transportation and five-star hotel accommodations for the singer and her team. According to them, the real reason behind the chaos was Neha’s late arrival, which led to significant financial losses. The organisers later shared detailed expense reports, revealing that they had suffered losses amounting to $529,000 (approx Rs 4.5 cr).
