Stock market today: After witnessing a massive sell-off on Wednesday, the Indian stock market shifted into a reasonable upside bounce amidst positive market breadth on Thursday. The Nifty 50 index added 148 points and ended at the 22,146 level, the BSE Sensex gained 335 points and closed at the 73,097 level whereas the Bank Nifty index finished 191 points lower at the 46,789 mark.

Paytm: On the eve of the March 15 deadline for Paytm Payments Bank to cease operations, Paytm secured a third-party application provider license from the National Payments Corporation of India on Thursday. This license will offer an alternative payment method to Paytm's customers via its app, following the shutdown of its banking division, Paytm Payments Bank, due to regulatory non-compliance. In related news, there are reports suggesting a potential 20% reduction in team sizes at Paytm.

According to Pullan, Samsung is targetting non-urban markets, and enhancing value of the smartphones priced below ₹50,000 to drive growth despite the challenges. “Upgrades are happening from ₹15,000 to the ₹30,000 price bracket, and from ₹30,000 to the ₹50,000 range.

Nifty on Thursday ended 149 points higher to form an Inside Bar candle on the daily chart as it consolidated around the lower half of the previous session's candle on the daily timeframe.
