markets Remark Tesla Universities Bitcoin reports Schools The tech bro style in American politics
Elon Musk its Person of the Year. True, that designation doesn't necessarily equate to a stamp of approval. But the magazine's coverage of Musk at the time was very favorable, almost fawning, highlighting his assertion that «my career is Mars and cars.» A lot of people would disagree with that declaration now. Of course, Tesla and SpaceX remain big businesses. But Musk himself is largely defined in many minds by the way he changed X, the site formerly known as Twitter — making more room for right-wing extremists, including a substantial number of pro-Nazi accounts, and his own embrace of antisemitic and racist conspiracy theories. Musk's right-wing turn isn't universal or even typical: Reporting suggests that even with the rightward turn of several boldface names, Silicon Valley remains heavily Democratic. Political contributions from the internet industry, in particular, remain strongly tilted toward Democrats. But right-wing tech bros are exerting a significant and, I'd argue, malign influence on the political landscape.

Harris is slightly leading 48 per cent to 43 per cent in the Great Lakes State against Trump, it said. «For a swing state, this margin is good news for the vice president's campaign,» Rodrigo Castro Cornejo, UMass Lowell political science assistant professor and Center for Public Opinion associate director, said. If Trump wants to beat this margin, he has an uphill battle to fight in the Great Lakes State. «The Trump campaign,» Castro Cornejo said, «has a negative favorability in Michigan that needs to be overcome if they want to remain competitive in the state.»

AccuWeather meteorologist Jesse Ferrell referred to John as a «zombie» storm — a term that refers to systems that dissipate before strengthening back into a storm, first coined by the U.S. National Weather Service in 2020 when the remnants of storm Paulette regenerated near the Azores after striking Bermuda.

The US Fed Reserve went as far as introducing a whopping 50 bps rate cut but that could stop the bleeding for now, and if Trump really comes to power, he has to immediately begin planning necessary remedies to counter the root causes of an incoming recession.

On Monday, September 24, sports analyst Todd McShay joined the Ryen Russell Podcast and suggested that Taylor Swift was influencing Travis Kelce's performance. A photo taken in preseason 2022 and another in preseason 2024; they are hardly the same person, McShay went on.
