Delhi Assembly elections, BJP MP Manoj Tiwari launched a scathing attack on AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal, accusing him of neglecting critical issues in the national capital. He said 'diet charges' (allocation of funds for food) have not been enhanced in the last eight years. «The previous government did not think of increasing it. That means, the then government did not give importance to diet charges, cosmetic charges or provision of basic facilities. Because of that, the residential schools have lost their prestige,» he said.

Delhi Police Special Cell has identified a private school student responsible for sending a bomb threat email to a school in Paschim Vihar, police said. According to police, the student had sent the threat email to his own school, and after tracing the IP address, the police team traced his home. Upon questioning, the child admitted to the act and was later counselled. He was let off with a warning to his parents to keep a watch on his behaviour. According to the Special Cell, this individual is not connected to the group bomb threat emails sent to many schools in Delhi on Friday.

Jammu and Kashmir Police have filed chargesheets against seven accused persons in Doda district in two separate cases under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). The chargesheets were presented on Friday before the NIA Court in Doda for judicial determination, said the police. Giving details SSP Doda, Sandeep Mehta said that all these accused persons have covertly or overtly supported the militant groups in the Doda district by providing them food and other logistics.

Meta Platforms is urging California's attorney general to block OpenAI's planned conversion to a for-profit company, the Wall Street Journal reported on Friday. In a letter to Attorney General Rob Bonta dated Thursday, Meta said that allowing OpenAI to become a for-profit company would set a dangerous precedent of allowing startups to enjoy the advantages of nonprofit status until they are poised to become profitable, WSJ reported. «OpenAI's conduct could have seismic implications for Silicon Valley. If OpenAI's new business model is valid, non-profit investors would get the same for-profit upside as those who invest the conventional way in for-profit companies while also benefiting from tax write-offs bestowed by the government,» the WSJ report quotes Meta as saying in the letter.

According to the San Francisco police and Medical Examiner's Office, the 26-year-old’s death has been ruled a suicide, with no evidence of foul play. Balaji’s passing has added urgency to the ongoing debates over the ethical and legal implications of AI development.

Sarwan Singh Pandher stated that a group of farmers will proceed 'peacefully' towards Delhi as part of their ongoing protest. Speaking to ANI, farmer leader Pandher stated that the government must arrange a talk if it is serious about resolving the matter. «Our third group, headed by Jaswinder Singh Longowal and Malkit Singh, will proceed from here peacefully, sharp at 12,» Pandher said.

Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) non-executive chairperson Ram Sewak Sharma stepped down a few days ago citing personal reasons, people in the know told ET. He was appointed to the position on September 12 this year. Sharma, a former mission director at the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), continues to be part of the advisory council of the government-backed open ecommerce network, the people said. Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) on Friday announced the acquisition of a 74% equity stake in Navi Mumbai IIA Private Limited (NMIIA) for Rs 1,628.03 crore. The deal, approved by RIL's Board of Directors on December 11, 2024, was completed following consent from the City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra Limited (CIDCO), which waived its rights of first refusal on December 12, 2024. As part of the transaction, RIL acquired 57.12 crore equity shares of NMIIA at Rs 28.50 per share, the company stated in a release on the exchanges.
