She said she found the notion entertaining and mentioned that she knows Michelle Obama better. One of the many strange allegations was that she was in a relationship with former US President Barack Obama. During the episode, Kimmel pulled out an August 2024 copy of In Touch magazine, which featured a cover story titled ‘The Truth About Jen and Barack!’ One line beneath the headline read, ‘Michelle betrayed as Aniston steals her husband's attention,’ and another said that Aniston and Obama are obsessed with each other. HDFC bank, Yes bank, CSB Bank and Karur Vysya Bank reported higher deposit growth print than credit growth, in a reversal of the sectoral trend of credit growth outpacing deposit growth over the past two years. India’s largest private sector lender HDFC Bank grew deposits by 15.1% year-on-year at the end of the September quarter taking its total deposit base to Rs 25 lakh crore. HDFC Bank continues aggressive deposit accretion, adds Rs 1.2 lakh crore in September quarter
HDFC Bank continued its drive to aggressively grow its deposit base by adding more than Rs 1.2 lakh crore worth of deposits in the September quarter provisional numbers showed. The lender grew its deposit by 15.1% at the end of the September quarter taking its total deposit base to Rs 25 lakh crore. Sequentially deposits grew by 5%. «Overall, we see this as a good set of numbers and if the margin is stable despite the slower loan growth, it would provide greater confidence on a quicker normalization story,» said Pranav Gundlapalle, head, India financials at Bernstein. «We could even see a continuation of the healthy margin improvement story if there had been a substantial decline in borrowings during the quarter.»

'Why Indians hate the rich?' Billionaire Harsh Goenka has a different answer than Zerodha's Nithin Kamath
Harsh Goenka was quick to weigh in on Zerodha CEO Nithin Kamath’s recent remarks about why Indians seem to dislike wealthy individuals. During an event in Bangalore, Kamath had responded to this question. Goenka, the billionaire chairman of RPG Enterprises, offered his perspective, stating that Indians do, in fact, celebrate “good billionaires” like Ratan Tata, Azim Premji, and Anand Mahindra. These figures, Goenka emphasized, are admired for their humility, philanthropy, and the values they represent. Goenka further elaborated that the issue isn’t wealth itself but how it is used. Those who flaunt their riches, engage in corruption, or prioritize personal gain over societal good are the ones who face public resentment, he said. According to him, wealth should be seen as a tool for positive societal impact, and those who use it for good are celebrated, while others are disliked for their ostentatious displays and unethical practices.

Laddu adulteration just tip of iceberg, much more to be probed, says Andhra Dy CM Pawan Kalyan
Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has said that the laddu adulteration issue is just a tip of the iceberg and there are many more decisions taken during the previous regime that have to be investigated. Addressing a rally here on Thursday, he said he was not blaming the YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy personally for the laddu adulteration, but the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) board, which was constituted during the previous regime. A day before the Supreme Court is expected to hear the case on the allegation of using animal fat in making Tirupati laddu, Kalyan said he wanted to communicate to the judiciary that Jagan was facing several charges including corruption allegations and it has to consider before giving a decision (in laddu adulteration case). «Laddu prasadam adulteration is a tip of the iceberg. We don't know how many crores of rupees they collected during the tenure of (the last) five years. That has to be investigated,» the Deputy CM said.

Hamas weakened, not crushed a year into war with Israel
Israel's military campaign to eradicate Hamas in retaliation for the October 7 attack has weakened it by killing several of its leaders and thousands of fighters, and by reducing swaths of the territory it rules to rubble. But the Palestinian militant group has not been crushed outright, and a year on from its unprecedented attack on Israel, an end to its hold over Gaza remains elusive. Hamas sparked the Gaza war by sending hundreds of fighters across the border into Israel on October 7, 2023, to attack communities in the south.
