The Central government launched the pilot phase of the Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme on Thursday, aiming to offer 1.25 lakh internship opportunities during the fiscal year 2024-25. Over 2,200 internship opportunities have been so far listed on the portal.
The scheme aims to address youth unemployment by providing internships to 1 crore young people over the next five years. These internships are intended to offer valuable workplace experience, making it easier for participants to secure jobs after completing the program. Applicants who meet the eligibility requirements can apply online through the official portal to benefit from the Prime Minister Internship Scheme.
To qualify for the scheme, candidates must meet the following criteria:
Selected participants will receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 4,500 from the government, with an additional Rs. 500 provided by companies as part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
