Canadian woman claims she was fired for exposing HR for hiring only Indians, gets schooled
Indian diaspora overseas has often been accused of tampering with recruitment policies to favour Indian candidates. Recently, a Canadian women invited controversy when she claimed that she was dismissed from her job at a multinational coffee chain when she complained that desi hiring managers often showed bias towards Indian immigrants. Taking to X, she alleged that Indian managers at Tim Hortons mainly hire people from the Indian community, which has led to feelings of exclusion and discrimination among employees from various backgrounds. The woman claimed she was fired after bringing these issues to the attention of management. This situation has emerged amid ongoing discussions about immigration to Canada, particularly as the Trudeau government has tightened regulations in response to a significant increase in newcomers. Her allegations have ignited considerable debate on social media, prompting a wide range of reactions from users. Caste Census Survey: Siddaramaiah faces pressure from within Congress to place it before Cabinet
Siddaramaiah has come under pressure from sections of OBC and SC/ST leaders to place the caste census report before the Cabinet – a demand he has agreed with, having always espoused the causes of minorities, OBCs and SC/STs. BK Hariprasad, permanent invitee at Congress Working Committee, on Sunday urged the CM to take steps to implement the caste census report without any loss of time even if it were to endanger survival of the Congress regime. Hariprasad, an MLC, has been a known critic of the CM, and his sharp comments are bound to provoke reactions from within the Congress ranks. The CM, speaking to the media at Raichur on Saturday, said he would place the 13-volume findings, submitted to the government in February, before the Cabinet for a decision. The report is officially called the economic, social and educational report and the government has not made the findings public fearing backlash from Lingayats and Vokkaligas, the two major communities.

Govt may mandate QR codes to check fake cancer drugs
cancer drugs, a bid to prevent counterfeits and validate the authenticity of medicines after incidents of refilling of expensive anti-cancer drugs with counterfeit drugs came to light. The proposal was discussed in a recent meeting of the Drugs Technical Advisory Board (DTAB), India's highest advisory body on drugs, which deliberated on the matter and agreed to it, said people familiar with the matter. The implementation of the proposal will, however, require an amendment to Schedule H2 of Drugs Rules, 1945, and therefore will be sent to the health ministry soon, they said. The board was informed that criminals in collusion with hospital pharmacies were found refilling empty vials of expensive anti-cancer medicines with counterfeit drugs. These fake drugs were then mixed with genuine stocks and sold to unsuspecting cancer patients, putting their life at risk.
