Crypto lawyers are seemingly divided over the significance of a recent court order from Judge Analisa Torres, which denied the United States Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) plan to file an interlocutory appeal against Ripple.

US District Judge Analisa Torres has rejected the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's motion to appeal in the ongoing Ripple lawsuit.

NEW YORK (Reuters) — The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on Tuesday asked a federal judge to deny a motion from Coinbase (NASDAQ:COIN) Global to dismiss the regulator's lawsuit against the cryptocurrency exchange.

Bitcoin (BTC) price gained 6% from Oct. 1 to Oct. 2 but after failing to break the $28,500 resistance, the price dropped by 4.5% on the same day. This decline happened because of the disappointing performance of Ether (ETH) futures exchange-traded funds (ETFs) that were launched on Oct. 2 and concerns about an upcoming economic downturn.

Yesterday at the Futures Industry Association Expo, Rostin Behnam, Chair of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), reiterated his call for a comprehensive regulatory structure for the crypto sector.

United States Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) chair Rostin Behnam highlighted his agency’s activity in the crypto sphere and the need for up-to-date legislation at the Financial Industry Association Expo 2023 event in Chicago. He described the CFTC Enforcement Division’s efforts as a “nonstop drumbeat.”

Following the approval of the first Ether (ETH) futures exchange-traded fund (ETF), Grayscale Investments is looking to convert its Grayscale Ethereum Trust to a spot Ether exchange-traded fund (ETF). 

The XRP price has risen by 1% in the past 24 hours, with its move to $0.523743 coming as the cryptocurrency market as a whole increases by just over 3% today.

Bitcoin (BTC), the world's top cryptocurrency, recently experienced a remarkable surge, surpassing the $28,000 mark on Monday. At that time, the entire cryptocurrency market boasted a total worth of approximately $1.11 trillion, marking a 3.05% growth within the past 24 hours. 

Valkyrie Funds LLC said on Friday it will halt buying of ethereum for the Valkyrie Bitcoin and Ether Strategy ETF and unwind any positions already acquired, a stumbling block in its bid to be the first to bring an exchange traded fund (ETF) tied to the cryptocurrency ethereum to the market. «The Fund will not purchase ether futures contracts until the effectiveness of an amendment to the Fund's registration statement contemplating the addition of ether futures contracts to the principal investment strategy of the Fund,» Valkyrie said in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. «Until such time, the Fund will unwind any existing positions in ether futures contracts.» Valkyrie announced Thursday it had received the green light to acquire ethereum futures contracts as part of the conversion of an existing ETF tied only to Bitcoin to include ethereum.

crypto company: Binance. Stablecoin issuer Circle Internet Financial Ltd. and crypto investment fund Paradigm Operations submitted filings this week arguing that the Securities and Exchange Commission had overstepped its authority when it filed charges against the world’s biggest crypto exchange in June. The SEC has alleged that Binance engaged in what the regulator described as “an extensive web of deception, conflicts of interest, lack of disclosure and calculated evasion of the law.” Binance has called the complaint “disappointing,” and said it had engaged with the SEC in good-faith negotiations to settle the matter.
