Manipur News: Senior cop explains delay in action on sexual harassment of two Kuki Zo women
Manipur News: The gruesome video that shows two Kuki Zo women being paraded naked and were allegedly ‘brutally-raped’ by a mob consisting of Mettei men, has attracted mass outcry for more reasons than one. The first being, why investigation and arrests were not made in the case when faces of the perpetrators were clearly visible in the video? The incident allegedly took place on 4 May, a day after violence broke out in Manipur between the minority Kuki community and the Hindu majority Meitei community.

Unemployment in Haryana increased three-fold under BJP rule: Deepender Hooda
Congress leader Deepender Singh Hooda said the unemployment rate has increased three-fold in Haryana under BJP rule and slammed the Manohar Lal Khattar government over the «appalling» situation. In a reply to a question in Parliament, Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment Rameswar Teli on Thursday said the unemployment rate in Haryana was 2.9 per cent in 2013-14 (when Congress was in power), which increased to 9.0 per cent in 2021-22, the Congress leader said in a statement here. «If we look at the unemployment rate at the national level, it is 4.1 per cent, which is less than half the unemployment rate in Haryana,» Deepender Hooda, son of former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, said. «This appalling situation despite the fact that Haryana is surrounded by the national capital from three sides. Haryana is the only state in the country where the unemployment rate has increased three times during the BJP rule,» he said. He claimed Haryana has become number one in terms of unemployment rate among the major states of the country.

Indonesia launches new crypto bourse, clearing house
crypto asset bourse to provide regulators with transaction records and better protect crypto investors, the government announced this week. The launch of the exchange and clearing house is also intended to strengthen monitoring of the booming sector amid a transition in regulatory oversight, according to the Commodity Futures Trading Regulatory Agency (Bappebti). Indonesia bans the use of cryptocurrencies as a means of payment, but allows investment in the assets. Such investment boomed during the pandemic, with data showing that as of June, 17.54 million people in the country had invested in the digital assets, more than the number of investors registered with the stock exchange. Rising global interest rates have, however, dampened demand for crypto assets in recent months.
