If Trump wins, here's why
Donald Trump came into Election Day with a fervent base of supporters and the experience of having already run for president twice. He also came with felony convictions and large numbers of voters who viewed him unfavorably. He was, in short, a candidate weighed down by extraordinary baggage. But Trump drove past that, presenting himself to an electorate that was eager for change and unhappy with the direction of the country under President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. Here's what analysts will most likely be saying should he win.

3 charged in Brampton Hindu temple demonstration as India’s Modi weighs in
Narendra Modi has issued a social media post condemning what Canadian law enforcement call demonstrations under investigation for alleged “acts of unlawfulness” that first began outside a Hindu temple in Ontario on Sunday.According to Peel Regional Police on Monday morning, three people were arrested and charged over the incident with other alleged acts still under investigation.pic.twitter.com/YqbSU3YAki— Peel Regional Police (@PeelPolice) November 4, 2024 On Sunday, just after 2:30 p.m., Peel Regional Police said they were aware of a protest that occurred at a temple in Brampton, Ont., and urged the public to ensure a “peaceful and lawful protest,” noting it had an increased and visible presence to monitor activities.About a half hour before the police’s post on X about the protest, Liberal cabinet minister Anita Anand said she was “concerned about reports of unacceptable violent attacks at the Hindu Sabha Temple in Brampton.”Video circulating on X appeared to show people using flagpoles to strike others.According to police, investigators believed the same protesters who demonstrated outside the temple later relocated to two separate locations in Mississauga, Ont.One arrest that occurred Sunday “during the management of the protest” in the Westwood Mall area of Mississauga resulted in a police officer sustaining minor injuries, Peel police said. The Hindu Canadian Foundation alleged the “attack” is “happening under the support of Khalistaani politician sympathizers.”In his post, Modi alleged there were “cowardly attempts to intimidate our diplomats.”“Such acts of violence will never weaken India’s resolve,” Modi wrote on X.

US Presidential Election 2024: Are schools closed on November 5?
Reports indicate that numerous public schools across major cities like New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, and Washington D.C. will close or declare a non-attendance day for students. However, not all schools will follow this approach, so parents and guardians are advised to check their local school district’s calendar for specific details. Over 160 million voters are expected to cast their ballots, with former President Donald Trump (78) vying for a return to office against Vice President Kamala Harris (60), who could become the first woman president of the United States. Current polls show a deadlocked race, with both candidates at 49% support and only 2% of voters undecided. An estimated 75 million voters have already cast their ballots, though neither candidate holds a decisive lead across enough states to secure the 270 electoral votes required to win.

US election results: Donald Trump or Kamala Harris? Wall Street, Stock market pick winner
US election 2024 results are set to be declared after November 5 polling day as millions of American voters will pick their next President between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris. A new poll showed Democratic candidate Kamala Harris leading in Iowa ahead of a Tuesday vote, even though rising bets of a win for Republican candidate Donald Trump in the recent weeks had lifted bond yields, dollar and bitcoin, as per a Reuters report. Stocks viewed as bets on the former president's chances of victory dipped in premarket trading, while a drop in 10-year Treasury yield from its recent high eased pressure on the broader market. Trump Media & Technology Group slipped 5 per cent and software developer Phunware that made apps for Trump campaign in 2020 fell 8.9 per cent, as per the Reuters report.

Sean Diddy friendship, Danny Masterson letter: Can Ashton Kutcher’s Hollywood career survive twin blows?
Kutcher has been revealed to have been a guest at disgraced rapper Sean Diddy Combs’ notorious parties. Along with his wife and ‘That 70’s Show’ co-star Mila Kunis, Kutcher was met with public outrage after writing letters in support of their former That '70s Show co-star, Danny Masterson, who was recently convicted of rape. Both actors were among nearly 50 people who submitted letters asking the court to consider leniency before Masterson received a 30-year-to-life sentence last Thursday for the sexual assault of two women in 2003. Despite Masterson's insistence on his innocence and plans to appeal, Kutcher and Kunis’ letters have sparked controversy.

US election: For dealmakers, regulatory chaos would undercut Trump's pro-business tilt
Trump presidency. That's because executives expect a Trump administration would also bring with it policy uncertainty, trade wars, protectionism, and inflationary pressures, which will slow down mergers and acquisitions activity, interviews with bankers, lawyers and consultants show. That's leading some dealmakers to believe the environment for corporate M&A activity might not look much different under either presidential candidate: Trump or Democratic rival Kamala Harris.

Trump and Harris campaigns race to get the vote out on eve of US election
Donald Trump, Kamala Harris and their campaigns scrambling to get supporters to the polls in a contest each portrays as an existential moment for America. Even after the astonishing blur of events the last few months, the electorate is divided down the middle, both nationally and in the seven battleground states expected to decide the winner on Tuesday, although the closeness of the contest means it could take days for a winner to emerge. Trump, a 78-year-old Republican, survived two assassination attempts, one by millimeters, just weeks after a jury in New York — the city whose tabloids first elevated him to national fame and notoriety — made him the first former U.S. president to be convicted of a felony.
