Bali is set to implement its new tourism tax from February 14, with officials revealing the final details as the launch date approaches. Confirmed details now include the exemption of seven visitor visa categories from the IDR 150,000 tourism tax fee. While these visa holders won't need to pay the tax, they are required to log in online and apply for an exemption. The exempted visa categories comprise diplomatic and official visas, crew members on transportation vehicles, and holders of temporary or permanent stay permit cards (KITAS and KITAP). Those with family unification visas, student visas, Golden Visas, and business-specific visas are also exempt. Applications for levy exemption must be submitted at least one month before entering Bali. The local tourism authority will then verify and decide on the application within a maximum of five working days, with the decision communicated to tourists through the Love Bali system at lovebali.baliprov.go.id.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday hit out at the BJP-led Centre while claiming that people in the country were not getting employment and were facing the wrath of inflation. Net loss came at Rs 5.3 crore in the December quarter of FY24 against Rs 39 crore profit in the year-ago period. Meanwhile, on a sequential basis, net loss narrowed from Rs 19.07 crore in the preceding September 2023 quarter.

Indian Railway Finance Corporation (IRFC) plunged over 10% to Rs 137 in Monday's trade on BSE after the firm reported a 1.7% year-on-year (YoY) decline in its net profit to Rs 1,604 crore in the December quarter of FY24. The company had reported a net profit of Rs 1,633 crore in Q3 FY23. Its revenue from operations, however, rose 8.43% to Rs 6,742 crore in Q3 FY24 as against Rs 6,218 crore in the corresponding period last fiscal.
