Volodymyr Zelenskyy: Net worth, education, and everything else you need to know about the Ukrainian President who stole the show at the White House
Volodymyr Zelenskyy, garnering attention for his dignified demeanour during a contentious White House meeting with US President Donald Trump. The encounter resulted in an 'unprecedented disaster' as Trump and VP JD Vance engaged in a 'shouting match' whilst 'berating' Zelenskyy. An American reporter, Brian Glenn, Chief White House Correspondent at Real America's Voice, questioned Zelenskyy's choice of attire — his signature black sweater. Zelenskyy responded with poise, stating, «I will wear a (suit) costume after this war finishes, yes. Maybe something like yours, yes, maybe something better. I don't know, we will see. Maybe something cheaper. Thank you.» The situation deteriorated when Trump and Vance collectively accused Zelenskyy of «disrespecting» the U.S. The meeting concluded abruptly, with Zelenskyy departing without securing a crucial minerals agreement intended for a US-brokered truce.

Champions Trophy 2025: South Africa qualify for semifinals after bowling out England for 179
England for 179, the lowest total of the tournament, in their final Group B match here. Already eliminated from the semifinal race, England needed a victory by at least 207 runs to give Afghanistan a chance of qualifying based on the run-rate. However, Marco Jansen (3/39) stole the show with the new ball, taking three crucial wickets, and Wiaan Mulder (3/25) and Keshav Maharaj (2/35) applied the pressure in the middle overs as South Africa confirmed their knockout berth, irrespective of the match's result. It remains to be seen who finishes on top of Group B and that will decide who India and New Zealand will play in the knockout stage.

Discussion of women's progress superficial without safe public spaces: Delhi HC
Delhi High Court has said unless an environment free from harassment and fear was created, all discussions on women's progress were superficial. Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma said real empowerment began with women's right to live and move freely without fear. The court made the observations in a judgement passed on February 28 while refusing to interfere with the conviction of a man for sexually harassing his female co-passenger on a public bus in 2015. In 2019, the trial court convicted the accused and sentenced him to undergo simple imprisonment for one year for offence punishable under Section 354 (Assault of criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the Indian Penal Code and six months under Section 509 (Word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of the woman) IPC. The decision was also upheld by the sessions court in appeal.

Russia revels in Zelenskyy’s Oval Office dressing down
Donald Trump is making all of Vladimir Putin’s dreams come true in Ukraine, but even at the Kremlin officials find the head-spinning turn of events hard to believe. Friday’s extraordinary Oval Office humiliation of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy by the US leader and his vice president, JD Vance, exceeded anything Russia could have expected. The response out of Moscow was swift. Former President Dmitry Medvedev, now deputy chairman of Russia’s security council, said Trump told Zelenskiy “the truth to his face” before adding: “But it’s not enough — military aid should be stopped.” On the X social media platform, Medvedev called Zelenskiy an “insolent pig.”

Bihar polls will be fought under leadership of Nitish: Jitan Ram Manjhi
Jitan Ram Manjhi on Friday asserted that the NDA will contest the assembly polls in Bihar due later this year under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Speaking to reporters here on the sidelines of a 'Dalit Samagam' held under the banner of his Hindustani Awam Morcha, Manjhi also said he would «welcome» entry into politics of the chief minister's son Nishant, whom he called «young» and «capable». «The NDA will win 225 plus seats of the 243-strong Bihar Assembly under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar,» asserted Manjhi, while dismissing the opposition's charge that the BJP was planning to «devour» the JD(U) in the run-up to elections. «They are defeated people and losers tend to speak this type of language,» replied Manjhi, a former chief minister himself, when his response was sought on RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav's claim that the BJP would be worried if Nishant entered politics as it would scuttle the saffron party's plans to devour the party headed by Nitish Kumar.
