Initially, Barrymore faced backlash for her decision to resume her show ‘The Drew Barrymore Show’ amidst the writers' strike, along with other WGA-covered shows. Critics, including picketers outside her New York City studio, raised objections. In a September 10 Instagram post, Barrymore tried to justify her return without the show's striking writers but later retracted. On September 17, she postponed the show's return until the end of the writers' strike, expressing profound apologies. Following the Writers Guild of America's tentative agreement with the AMPTP studios and streamers, the strike ended on September 26. Now, daytime talk shows, heavily reliant on celebrity guests, are rescheduling their returns, which is good news for networks hungry for fresh content amid the dual Hollywood strikes. The Talk is set to return on October 9, while The Jennifer Hudson Show already made its comeback on October 2. On Wednesday morning, Kelly Clarkson announced the return of her daytime talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, on October 16. The talk show will be filmed at NBC Studios' Studio 6A in New York.
