'Spread love, not hate.' Now AP Dhillon shows solidarity with Shubh, says musicians finding it tough to focus on their craft
Shubhneet Singh, popularly known as Shubh, has now found some support from fellow Indo-Canadian Amritpal Singh Dhillon, known professionally as AP Dhillon. Dhillon, in solidarity, shared a somewhat cryptic, lengthy post on Instagram Story. In the post he wrote that «as an artist it has become almost impossible to stay focussed on your craft and do what you love,» in a subtle reference to the controversy that has engulfed his colleague Shubh in the wake of the Indo-Canada diplomatic row. The 26-year-old Shubh made headlines after his India tour was scrapped by sponsor BoAT and ticketing platform BookMyShow following his alleged support to the Khalistan issue.

China’s ultra-rich head home as tensions with US increase
For years, the Harvard College China Forum brought business moguls en masse to the university’s oak-paneled rooms, including Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. founder Jack Ma, Xiaomi Corp.’s Lei Jun, Blackstone Inc.’s Stephen Schwarzman and Bridgewater Associates LP’s Ray Dalio. There at the invitation of students, some of whom also happen to be the children of Chinese billionaires, the moneyed classes of the world’s two largest economies would hobnob every year in a lively exchange of ideas, demonstrating wealth’s power to bridge geopolitical rifts.

Nicki Minaj’s husband Kenneth Petty faces 120-day house arrest. Here’s what happened
Kenneth Petty, Nicki Minaj's spouse, is now serving 120 days of house detention for violating his probation terms. This violation stemmed from social media clips where he seemed to threaten rapper Offset. A court order filed recently in California's Central District directed Petty to undergo home monitoring due to recorded threats directed at a specific individual, identified as Offset. These threats were evident in social media posts made on September 16. Petty received a three-year probation sentence in July 2022 after admitting guilt for failing to register as a sex offender in California in 2020. His criminal history includes a 1995 conviction for first-degree attempted rape of a 16-year-old girl, resulting in a four-year prison term in New York. The viral video from September 16 showed Petty and his companions outside a New York City hotel, where Offset was reportedly staying. Amid various menacing remarks, Petty uttered, «Plan that vacation, you gonna be planning your funeral, pussy!» Offset, formerly part of the Migos rap group and Cardi B's husband, responded to the threats in a video on his social media platform. He downplayed the situation, saying, «I'm getting off a jet, he's funny,» and suggested that Petty was financially unstable. It's worth noting that Nicki Minaj and Cardi B have a history of feuding, culminating in a physical altercation at the Harper’s Bazaar Icons party during New York Fashion Week in September 2018. Videos from the event circulated widely on social media, depicting Cardi B lunging at Minaj and initiating an altercation.

Canada says will adjust staff presence in India amid threats
«With some diplomats having received threats on various social media platforms, Global Affairs Canada is assessing its staff complement in India,» the Canadian High Commission said. «As a result, and out of an abundance of caution, we have decided to temporarily adjust staff presence in India. All of our locations are staffed by diplomats and locally-engaged staff to ensure business and operational continuity,» the statement read. Citing the Vienna Convention, the High Commission further called on India to «provide for the security of our accredited diplomats and consular officers in India, just as we are for theirs here.» The Canadian mission, however, could not substantiate the threats. The India-Canada diplomatic relationship has nosedived ever since Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on the floor of Parliament alleged the involvement of the Indian government in the killing of Khalistan separatist leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Canada.
