El Salvador has introduced a $1,130 fee on travelers from 57 countries, including India, passing through its main airport. This measure, enforced since the end of October, has drawn attention due to its timing amid increasing pressure from the United States to manage migration flows heading towards its southern border. El Salvador's aviation authority has labeled the fee as an «airport improvement fee,» but the motive behind it remains unclear. Notably, the US has been urging Central American nations to take steps to control the flow of migrants reaching its border with Mexico. While El Salvador has not explicitly linked the fee to migration control, the country has acknowledged a rise in travelers from the specified nations this year. Most affected passengers are destined for Nicaragua, primarily on Avianca, a commercial airline. Nicaragua, with its lenient visa requirements, serves as a transit point for migrants from Haiti, Cuba, and Africa, aiming to reach the US. Earlier this year, an unexpected increase in migrants from Mauritania arriving at the US southern border puzzled officials. Investigations revealed travel agencies and social media influencers promoting routes through Morocco, Spain, and El Salvador before reaching Nicaragua. El Salvador's aviation authority and immigration agency lack specific data on the number of migrants from the listed countries transiting the country in 2023. The US embassy has not confirmed if it played a role in requesting the fee.

Together with the company's co-founder, Do Kwon, Terraform Labs is vigorously pursuing a dismissal of these charges from a U.S. District Court. The legal representatives for Kwon and Terraform Labs argued in a document that was submitted on October 27 to the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York that the cryptocurrencies Terra Classic (LUNC), TerraClassicUSD (USTC), Mirror Protocol (MIR), and mirrored assets (mAssets) are not securities as asserted by the SEC. The document was filed in response to the SEC's claim that the cryptocurrencies are securities.

The storm's influence extends further with a yellow warning for rain in parts of north-east Scotland, previously battered by Storm Babet, causing evacuations from flooded homes.

David Cameron's return to government, but his appointment is one that British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak hopes will signal to wavering supporters that the Conservatives are not lurching to the right to win an election expected next year. China will hold a joint military exercise with five south east Asian countries in mid-to-late November, state media outlet Xinhua reported on Sunday. The exercise, to be held in China's southern Guangdong province, will include Cambodian, Lao, Malaysian, Thai and Vietnamese forces. The drills will be focused on counter terrorism and maritime safety, Xinhua said.

The satellites, co-developed with Taiwan’s National Central University, are the size of a backpack, weigh about 9 kilograms (20 pounds) each and carry cameras, communication devices and other equipment. They are designed to orbit Earth every 96 minutes at an altitude of 520 kilometers (323 miles).
