External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Saturday said what is happening in poll-bound Canada over the killing of Khalistan separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar is mostly due to their internal politics and nothing to do with India. Jaishankar said this while replying to a question on why Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is criticizing India. While interacting with senior journalists during a visit here, he also said the country needs a strong and active Prime Minister like Narendra Modi in order to bring further reforms in various sectors to make a «Viksit Bharat (developed India)». «India's image globally is now actually much much higher than it had been ever… Canada is an exception. Citizens Extreme Remark WhatsApp wellness country strain Trudeau's remarks illustrated political space given in Canada to separatism, extremism: India
India on Thursday rejected fresh comments by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on the killing of Khalistan separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar and said the remarks once again illustrated the political space given in Canada to separatism, extremism, and violence. Trudeau addressed a Khalsa Day event in Toronto on Sunday that was attended by some pro-Khalistan people. On the sidelines of the event, he told the media that the killing of Nijjar in British Columbia in June last year created «problem» and that he cannot ignore it, in an apparent reference to his earlier allegations of involvement of Indian agents in the assassination. «PM Trudeau has made such remarks earlier as well. His remarks illustrate once again the political space that has been given in Canada to separatism, extremism, and violence,» external affairs ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said at his weekly media briefing.

COST WhatsApp strain Updates Banks may have to slowdown loan growth in FY25: S&P
profitability and asset quality would remain robust in current fiscal reflecting strong economic growth, but they may be compelled to slow down their loan growth as deposits are not growing at a similar pace, S&P Global Ratings has said. In the Asia-Pacific 2Q 2024 Banking Update, S&P Global Ratings Director SSEA Nikita Anand said the agency expects the sector's strong credit growth to moderate to 14 per cent in FY25, from 16 per cent in FY24, if deposit growth, especially retail deposits, remain tepid. Anand said there is a deterioration in loan-to-deposit ratio is every bank, with loan growth being 2-3 percentage points higher than deposit growth. «We expect banks to bring down their loan growth in FY25 and bring it in line with deposit growth. If banks do not do that, they would be paying higher to get wholesale funding, which will impact profitability,» she said at a recent webinar of S&P Global Ratings.

Allottees of the under-construction apartment society have raised complaints to the DDA about shattered wall tiles, patchy cement beneath, as well as rusty pipes and iron reinforcements, raising doubts about the materials used. Some allottees have alleged that old fittings might have been used in the luxury flats. Additionally, electricity and water pipes were visible through unfinished walls and plastering on them. The buyers have also pointed out that the complex was registered under the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) after repeated requests and RERA's recent intervention in April. The DDA also informed RERA about a potential project completion extension to October 2024, contrary to the initial promise of June 2024. With significant investments already made, allottees are finding themselves financially strained, fearing further delays in possession. Allottees have expressed concerns that they have already paid 75 percent of the amount, and their loan EMIs have already started, in addition to the rent they are paying for living in rented accommodation.
