Private Banks, IT poised for revival; cement sector to emerge as a dark horse: Rupen Rajguru
«There will not be a wide across the board earnings growth. There will be pockets which will show growth and which is where the market will look into,» says Rupen Rajguru, Head of Equity Investment & Strategy, Julius Baer. What is the market telling us in the sense that there has not been any incremental negative news flow as such, but it is not taking off? Do you think the interest in the overall markets is on the lower side or is it just time-wise consolidation that we will have to deal with? Rupen Rajguru: As you said what is the market looking for. So, while you said that there is no incremental negative, but at the same time there are no incremental positives. So, usually, we had this phenomenal bull run between 2020 and 2024 wherein the earnings compounded more than 20% plus for largecaps and 25% plus for midcaps and 30% plus for smallcaps.

COAI calls on DOCA to notify rules to rein in spam calls, messages
DOCA) to quickly notify guidelines by using its powers under Section 18 of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, to expedite stringent action against individuals/entities bombarding ordinary consumers with unsolicited and unwarranted business communications (UBC). “The DOCA guidelines, once issued, will cover all sources of UBC – whether through the telecom service provider channel or the OTT Communication channel — and will provide complete protection to the consumers at large,” the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI), which represents Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea (Vi), said in an official statement Thursday. The telecom sector lobby body said the present Telecom Commercial Communication Customer Preference Regulation, 2018 (TCCCPR), formulated under the TRAI Act, 1997, is an “incomplete and therefore ineffective solution,” as there are several entities in the ecosystem that are responsible for the UBC that are outside the telecom regulator’s jurisdiction.

RCB gives 5,500% hike to this player, it is not Virat Kohli
Royal Challengers Bengaluru assembled a strong side in the IPL 2025 auction held on Sunday and Monday at Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The franchise had retained star batter Virat Kohli for Rs 21 crore, Rajat Patidar for Rs 11 crore and uncapped pacer Yash Dayal for Rs 5 crore. They also made a few big buys in the auction, including Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood for Rs 12.5 crore, England's Liam Livingtone and Phil Salt for Rs 8.75 crore and Rs 11.50 crores. However, it was the Indian wicket-keeper batter Jitesh Sharma who was the biggest gainer. The franchise shelled out Rs 11 crore on the finisher. He got a salary hike of 5,500 per cent — which is an IPL record by some distance. The amount he will receive in the 2025 season is 55 times more than his previous IPL salary of Rs 20 lakh. He was picked up for his base price by PBKS in the IPL 2022 mega auction and then retained him for the same price for the next two seasons.
