The court emphasised the urgency of taking action against officials responsible for «serious lapses» in implementing these anti-pollution measures. The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) informed the court that show-cause notices had been issued to the Delhi Police Commissioner, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) Commissioner, and the Delhi Transport Department for failing to comply with orders aimed at curbing air pollution in the capital. The court criticised the authorities, citing a report that revealed an «abject failure» to enforce GRAP-IV restrictions effectively.
