Asia Cup: Haris Rauf leads Pakistan's rout of Bangladesh
Haris Rauf led Pakistan's pace trio with four wickets to thump Bangladesh by seven wickets in the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup in Lahore on Wednesday. Rauf picked up 4-19 while pace partner Naseem Shah finished with 3-34 to bundle Bangladesh out for 193 runs in 38.4 overs to set up an easy win. Opener Imam-ul-Haq struck a brilliant 78 and Mohammad Rizwan an unbeaten 63 to help Pakistan chase down the target for three wickets in 39.3 overs. The win gives Pakistan an ideal start ahead of their highly charged match against India in Colombo on Sunday after the first game between the arch-rivals was abandoned due to rain last week. Haq built the innings after fellow opener Fakhar Zaman (20) and skipper Babar Azam (17) fell early, hitting four sixes and five boundaries in his 84-ball innings. Haq, who now has 19 ODI half centuries, added 85 for the third wicket with Rizwan before he was bowled by Mehidy Hasan Miraz with just 35 needed for victory. Rizwan, who hit seven boundaries and a six off 79 balls for his 19th half century, and Agha Salman 12 not out saw off the target with 63 balls remaining. Earlier, Pakistan's pace duo of Rauf and Naseem derailed Bangladesh who won the toss and batted on a flat Gaddafi Stadium pitch. The senior duo of Mushfiqur Rahim scored 64 for his 46th half-century while skipper Shakib Al Hasan, who hit 53, anchored the innings but once their stand of 100 for the fifth wicket was broken, Bangladesh's innings faltered. Shakib fell while hooking medium-fast bowler Faheem Ashraf in the 30th over, caught at the boundary.

'Need incentive scheme for wind energy components to boost capacity'
renewable energy components, industry stakeholders have suggested that a production linked incentive scheme for components and sub-components makers in the wind energy would boost the sector. Speaking at a press briefing here, Amit Kansal, CEO and MD of Senvion India, said that if PLI scheme is implemented for components and sub components manufacturers, it will ensure scaling up of the manufacturing capacities installed. “The government of India’s scheme will also help in job creation and will give a boost to initiatives like 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' and 'Make In India'," Kansal added.

The Risk in Changing the Fed’s 2% Inflation Target
Jason Furman argues “The Fed Should Carefully Aim for a Higher Inflation Target" (op-ed, Aug. 21). Why does the Federal Reserve mark 2% as the inflation line in the first place? Boosting it to 2.5% or 3% doesn’t appear to be such a serious departure.

Pakistan shuts key border crossing with Afghanistan after guards exchange fire
Pakistani authorities closed a key border crossing with landlocked Afghanistan on Wednesday shortly after border guards from the two sides exchanged fire, officials and residents said, in a sign of increasing tensions between the two neighbors. Reasons why the two sides exchanged fire were not immediately made clear, said Nasrullah Khan, an official in Torkham, a town in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. He said Pakistani government and military officials were in contact with their Afghan counterparts to defuse tensions. Abdul Mateen Qani, the Afghan Taliban-appointed spokesman for the Interior Ministry, confirmed the clash between Afghan and Pakistani forces. He said officials from both sides were attempting to find out what caused the clash and ways to prevent such incidents in the future. Pakistani authorities said dozens of trucks carrying perishable items, including vegetables and fruits, were waiting on both sides of the border for the reopening of the Torkham crossing, which is a vital commercial artery and trade route to Central Asian countries for Pakistan. The border closure comes two days after caretaker Pakistani Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar said U.S.
