Black Friday Sale 2024 impact on US Stocks: Big test for shares of retailers
The benchmark S&P 500 rose 1.7% in the past week and approached all-time highs as investors digested the end of a solid third-quarter corporate reporting season. Earnings are on pace to have climbed about 9% from a year earlier, Reuters reported. But recent earnings from two high-profile retailers yielded sharply different prospects: Walmart on Tuesday raised its annual sales and profit forecast for the third consecutive time, while Target shares tumbled after it forecast holiday-quarter comparable sales and profit below estimates on Wednesday.

"Ab bohot shikar hone waale hai.....": Cricket fraternity reacts to Virat's 81st international ton
Virat Kohli scored his 81st international century against Australia during the first Border-Gavaskar Trophy at Perth's Optus Stadium on Sunday. Virat slammed his first Test century in SENA (South Africa, England, New Zealand and Australia) conditions in almost six years, breaking the Test ton curse at Perth with an unbeaten knock that witnessed him play plenty of 'Vintage Kohli' shots. His last ton in SENA came in December 2018 in Australia, at the same venue Taking to X after his century, South Africa's batting legend AB de Villiers called Virat as the 'Greatest of All Time (GOAT)'.

I just wanted to contribute to team's cause: Virat Kohli after scoring 30th Test hundred
Virat Kohli swapped fluency with spunk to score his 30th Test hundred which took him past the incomparable Sir Donald Bradman's tally here on Sunday, and it was also one of the most significant knocks in a stellar career that is in its final chapter. Kohli's unbeaten 100 (143b, 8x4, 2x6) against Australia at the Optus Stadium was his first hundred after the 121 against the West Indies at Port of Spain in July 2023, and since then 15 innings have passed without a three-figure mark. It was a massive climb down for a man who churned out hundreds for fun, and the 36-year-old was also a befuddled batter in the turners at home. But at Perth, the venue of his majestic hundred in 2018, and against a favoured opposition, Kohli pushed behind the agonies of the past.

Virat Kohli continues to shine in Perth as he finally finds his rhythm
Virat Kohli on Sunday smashed a brilliant 50 in just 94 balls on the third day of the first Test in Perth, to continue India's lead against the mighty Australians. Kohli, who was out after scoring merely 5 runs in the first innings, appears to have found his rhythm or perhaps regained the much needed momentum in the second. He went on to smash three fours and a six in the innings and even built a strong sixth-wicket partnership with Washington Sundar. This half-ton marks Kohli's 32nd Test fifty, sixth against Australia and second in Perth and above anything else, it marks an end to his forgettable Test season thus far.

Is your smartphone eavesdropping on your conversations, here's a simple test that can reveal all
Cybersecurity experts from NordVPN have developed a straightforward four-step test to determine if your smartphone is eavesdropping on your conversations, reported Daily Mail. The test begins by selecting a unique topic that you have never searched for or discussed near your device. According to Daily Mail, after choosing the topic, you should have multiple conversations about it while avoiding any related searches or interactions on your phone. Over the following days, you will monitor your social media ads to see if any related content appears. In their own experiments, NordVPN found that participants received targeted ads shortly after discussing topics they had never previously searched for which actually suggested that their devices may have been listening, asserted Daily Mail. For instance, one participant who discussed Saudi Arabia began seeing hotel ads for the country just days later.
