TD's growth is capped in the U.S., but expanding in Canada won't be easy, analysts say
Toronto-Dominion Bank‘s ability to expand its retail banking business in the United States has been restricted, leaving investors wondering whether it will do the obvious and focus on growing its personal and commercial banking segment in Canada or its wealth and insurance business in the U.S., but analysts say any potential moves would be “easier said than done.”

F1 braces for more Max Verstappen-Lando Norris drama and Hamilton to drive revered Ayrton Senna's car
Max Verstappen suggests he won’t change his aggressive driving this weekend at the Brazilian Grand Prix as he bids for a fourth successive Formula 1 title. Lando Norris needs a win at Interlagos in Sao Paolo to maintain any realistic title hopes. New elements could spice up the clash between the drivers, who have received penalties in the past two races in Austin, Texas and Mexico for their boldness on the track. Interlagos has a new tarmac, rain is expected all weekend, and Verstappen received a five-place penalty on the grid after he and Red Bull decided to use a new engine.

Lawn-sign wars: US voters use trackers, cameras to deter political theft
Kamala Harris signs disappearing from her Springfield, Missouri, front yard, Laura McCaskill taped a tracking device to one to see where it might end up. That led her to a blue Kia sedan in a nearby town, where a young man admitted he had stolen her sign, along with dozens of others, according to a video shot by McCaskill. «Um, yeah, so if you want them back they're right there,» he said as he stood next to a trunk filled with Harris signs. As the Nov. 5 election between Harris and Republican Donald Trump draws near, people across the U.S. are reporting a rash of yard-sign thefts — and turning to a range of remedies to stop them, from surveillance cameras and GPS trackers to low-tech solutions like glitter and hot peppers to deter would-be thieves.

Beaten down metals look ripe for a boom, ETFs may be the right bet
Aggressive investors looking for a thematic bet in their equity portfolios could consider an allocation to exchange-traded funds (ETFs) tracking the Nifty Metal index, which has dropped about 12.5% in the past month. The benchmark Nifty fell 6.3% in this period. «Valuations have also cooled down now making it an attractive bet with a 2-3 year view,» said Prateek Sinha, founder of Deep Wealth. The Nifty Metal index trades at a price-to-book (PB) ratio of 2.59 times, lower than 3.6 times of the Nifty 50 index.
