Global shares have advanced, taking their cues from another Wall Street record rally, while bitcoin edged away from its record high

Paradeep Phosphates Ltd.(up 5.78%), The Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore Ltd.(up 2.50%), Deepak Fertilisers & Petrochemicals Corporation Ltd.(up 2.30%), Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd.(up 2.26%), Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals Ltd.(up 2.00%), Rama Phosphates Ltd.(up 1.59%), Aries Agro Ltd.(up 1.46%), National Fertilizers Ltd.(up 0.75%), Southern Petrochemicals Industries Corporation Ltd.(up 0.67%) and Coromandel International Ltd.(up 0.63%) stood among the top gainers.

Domestic benchmark index NSE Nifty ended 240.96 points at 24708.4, while the BSE Sensex closed 809.53 points up at 81765.86.

On the BSE, Ganga Pharmaceutical(down 11.11 per cent), Navoday Enterprises(down 10.46 per cent), Ashiana Ispat(down 10.41 per cent), KK Shah Hospitals(down 10.02 per cent) and IO System Ltd(down 9.99 per cent) stood among the top losers in today's trade.

Sheetal Cool Products Ltd.(up 5.00%), Varun Beverages Ltd.(up 2.36%), Euro India Fresh Foods Ltd.(up 2.36%), Vadilal Industries Ltd.(up 2.15%), Heritage Foods Ltd.(up 2.07%), Gillette India Ltd.(up 2.05%), Nakoda Group Of Industries Ltd.(up 1.62%), LT Foods Ltd.(up 1.60%), Godrej Consumer Products Ltd.(up 1.33%) and Hindustan Unilever Ltd.(up 1.23%) stood among the top gainers.

Triveni Engineering & Industries Ltd.(up 9.61%), Simbhaoli Sugars Ltd.(up 1.34%), DCM Shriram Industries Ltd.(up 1.08%), Avadh Sugar & Energy Ltd.(up 0.66%), Kothari Sugars & Chemicals Ltd.(up 0.64%), Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals Ltd.(up 0.60%), Dhampur Sugar Mills Ltd.(up 0.45%), Dwarikesh Sugar Industries Ltd.(up 0.42%), Dalmia Bharat Sugar and Industries Ltd.(up 0.40%) and Sakthi Sugars Ltd.(up 0.21%) stood among the top gainers.

Shares of MRF Ltd.(up 3.1 per cent), Bosch Ltd.(up 2.82 per cent), Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.(up 2.79 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 1.32 per cent) and Apollo Tyres Ltd.(up 1.13 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

Equity benchmark Sensex ended the session up 809.53 points at 81765.86.

Shares of ICICI Bank Ltd.(up 1.56 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 1.01 per cent), State Bank of India(up 0.67 per cent), Axis Bank Ltd.(up 0.6 per cent) and Au Small Finance Bank Ltd.(up 0.36 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

Bitcoin (BTCUSD) soared above $100,000 for the first time late Wednesday as investors bet that the incoming Trump administration and Congress will support policies that benefit the cryptocurrency market. 

Zomato on Thursday rallied up to 6% to hit a fresh all-time high of Rs 304.50 on BSE. The stock, which is set to enter Sensex from December-end, is now on the verge of crossing the Rs 3 lakh crore market capitalization mark. Zomato rival Swiggy's Q2 earnings had positive read-throughs for investors in Zomato as well. Global brokerage firm CLSA reiterated its 'outperform' rating on Zomato with a target price of Rs 370, citing a strong momentum in the quick commerce segment and its leadership position.

Tata Power Company Ltd. 0.44 per cent to Rs 423.60 in Thursday's trade. It hit a high of Rs 427.05 and low of Rs 419.50 during the session. On the technical charts, the 200-DMA of the stock stood at Rs 427.52, while the 50-DMA was at Rs 439.22. If a stock trades above 50-DMA and 200-DMA, it usually means the immediate trend is upward. On the other hand, if the stock trades below 50-DMA and 200-DMA, it is considered a bearish trend and if trades between these averages, then it suggests the stock can go either way.

Avenue Supermarts Ltd. rose 0.19 per cent to Rs 3841.60 in Thursday's trade. It hit an intraday high of Rs 3872.00 and low of Rs 3825.00, respectively, during the day. The stock quoted a 52-week high price of Rs 5484.00 and low of Rs 3567.35.

Shree Cements Ltd. 2.05 per cent to Rs 26857.05 at 12:22PM hours (IST) on Thursday. Earlier in the day, the stock saw a gap down start to the session. As per data available on BSE, total traded quantity on the counter stood at 367 shares with a turnover of Rs 1.00 crore till 12:22PM (IST). The stock traded at a price-to-earnings (P/E) multiple of 56.04, while the price-to-book value ratio stood at 4.48.

Havells India Ltd. 0.16 per cent to Rs 1730.65 at 12:27PM (IST) in Thursday's trade. The counter has hit a high of Rs 1748.75 and low of Rs 1715.00 so far during the session. The stock had closed at Rs 1733.50 in the previous session. The counter has had a total traded volume of 14280 shares so far with a value of Rs 2.47 crore on the NSE. It traded at a price-to-earnings multiple of 76.74 and a price-to-book ratio of 12.75.

DLF Ltd. 0.46 per cent to Rs 852.25 at 12:17PM hours (IST) on Thursday. Earlier in the day, the stock saw a gap up start to the session. As per data available on BSE, total traded quantity on the counter stood at 46,126 shares with a turnover of Rs 3.91 crore till 12:17PM (IST). The stock traded at a price-to-earnings (P/E) multiple of 58.52, while the price-to-book value ratio stood at 5.64.

ACC Ltd. 1.38 per cent to Rs 2270.45 at 12:12PM hours (IST) on Thursday. Earlier in the day, the stock saw a gap up start to the session. As per data available on BSE, total traded quantity on the counter stood at 3,813 shares with a turnover of Rs 0.86 crore till 12:12PM (IST). The stock traded at a price-to-earnings (P/E) multiple of 20.83, while the price-to-book value ratio stood at 2.87.

B Thiagarajan: As far as room air conditioners is concerned, we had a fantastic festival season as well. In fact, the growth was more than 30%. It is probable that other durables did not do well, but very clearly air conditioners business has been growing and it continues even today.

Vishal Mega Mart is set to launch its Rs 8,000 crore initial share-sale on December 11 for public subscription. The Initial Public Offering (IPO) will conclude on December 13 and the bidding for anchor investors will open for a day on December 10, the Red Herring Prospectus (RHP) showed on Thursday. The proposed IPO is entirely an Offer For Sale (OFS) of shares by promoter Samayat Services LLP, with no fresh issue of equity shares, according to the Updated Draft Red Herring Prospectus (UDRHP).
